Just a thought ... you guys have real bussy forums here ... REALLY busy. I admin forums for a personal clan, and i have 16 Forums with only about 40 active members or so, and that is hard to keep up with if you leave for 2 days .....

So my thought on site improvement would be to add alot more specific forums, a chat forum, maybe even a class forum where one can talk shop about the specific classes, a forum for design (art, signatures, ect), guild recruitment, ect. It might make them easier to manage, and to keep them organized. Plus you can appoint mods to each forum, to help you manage, and so they can maintain their charactor. New forums are pretty intimidating if you see 900 posts all that say 'read this, important!' there is no way anyone can absorb all the information.

Just a thought.

Though it probably doesn't seem like it, our site is actually just a little over a month old. We've kept the initial forums that we've had for a while, because there wasn't much of a need to expand beyond that. However... the user base of this site, these forums, continues to expand at an unreal rate. Should that continue to be something that holds true, then yes, certainly i'd expect to see some new forums added around here.

Right, we launched this site on February the 6th, wasn't it? Before the Feb BWE, at any rate. And we've experience massive growth.

However, we don't want to go wacky with new boards and forums. I, for one, (and my opinion hopefully counts for something around here) like things being a bit more streamlined than the normal conglomoration of ultra-narrowly focused boards and sub-boards. It sounds like a nice idea, but it gets confusing to newer posters, especially if those areas are ill-defined, and actually creates work for moderators who need to keep shuffling threads to and fro. Having a few boards means that the boards we do have are active and lively, for the most part. There's likely to be new posts and there's likely to be people looking in those boards to read a new post. We could do with a bit of expansion, I think, but we don't have *so* many posters that, say, a Warrior board wouldn't be just a few stray threads. Now, those threads get a general audience, people who might avoid them if they were stuck in such a ghetto, and I think that's healthier, overall.

And, for that matter, we try to hold each other to a bit higher standard around here. We shouldn't *have* 900 posts screaming "IMPORTANT" because that's not the type of forum we want to run. This is a place for discussion, serious, reasoned, and well-moderated discussion. We might need more help weeding things out but I think the posters we have are, by and large, capable of policing themselves enough that things don't deteriorate that much.

Well I noticed that everyone posts in Questions & Answers and The Riverside Inn.

We need more posts/threads in other forums. I think the Ventari's Sell will get populated once the game starts though...

Q&A might die down when we have more expierenced players...

Riverside Inn I'm pretty sure will stay the largerst forum here...

Also a 'mark all read' would be helpful. I can't seem to find out.

I actually like the wider format a little better than that other board I post on where there is a forum for darn near everything. I feel more like people actually read things around here rather than just post blindly to a thread topic without reading all of the posts within it. Remember to use the "Get New Posts" link up there on the right.

One more thing ... i didn't realize my sig was non-compliant. Sorry about that. I go to so many forums i just auto add them any time i join a new board. I been around a few of these things, so i know whats expected and whats not, i generally don't read the rules for every forum i go to.

Most people probally don't either, just being realistic. What i am getting at, is my invisionboard has a setting in admin panel where i can check the sig size and automaticly deterimine compliance.

Just a thought to save the overworked admins some of their precious time.

We use VBulletin here. I'm not sure if it has that feature although it would be rather nice to have. But, then again, I'm not really the most knowledgeable about such matters. If it's possible, I fully endorse it as it would save a lot of time, effort, and grief.
