North of the wall!

Ok, i'm in pre-searing, trying to do everything on my second character.

I'm trying to go north of the wall to complete a quest but the gate lever is on the wall above the gate. Every time i pull the lever, the gate opens, i try and run down in time, but it always shuts.

Any ideas how to keep the gate open long enough? just me i'm afraid, nobody wants to party pre searing for some reason!

You have to do this with an ally. While the gate is open have your ally run through the gate into the next section and you'll travel right along with them.
