is it just me or has lag this weekend been untolerable?
everyone is getting it and it's even occuring in towns/posts.
In one day, I lost two tomb runs b/c a player was lagged-out. the towns are horrible and it seems as if everyone is complaining.
i've never seen lag this bad.
perhaps they're streaming too much of factions... hehe

Just been gettin hits in LA, but yeah.... it's kinda abnormal. I get more lag in Guru than anywhere else on the net. Too bad it's the best site for GW!

I would guess as the game has gotten more popular, the servers are having some problems...but of course I am wrong and it's my ISP...

I have posted about the lag on 3 occasions. its not worth griping about. each dissguession was removed bacause it isn't in the favor of anet. they are quick to nerf they are quick to change but ask them to clean up their mess and all ya get is removed from here and no response from anet. i personally am not going to buy factions.

and lol yeah its probably my line to 13-17 ms average ping times 8.3 meg dl/ 791k UL speed tested. lol and they will tell me its my line. next they will say its my hardware.lmao

As with the lag, I have noticed a little more than usual. I actually took a screenshot of it. I was going to farm ettins from Beetletun and walked out of the portal and kept going, the map didn't change. It took about 10-15 seconds before the server actually realized I was supposed to be in an instance.

Disconnected while helping a friend to hell's today...guild leader disconnected a day ago when doing a mission as well. I've been getting the occasional slowdown bug (where you seem to walk slower and slower like on ice, then stop, then lag instantly moves you ahead), as well as the normal movement bug.

I've noticed a lot more freezing in place/skipping around to random spots in outposts lately (especially busy ones like District 1's). I'm also lagging during merchant/trader transactions too (ie: it takes an extra second or two to sell something or start the chain of sellings/buyings sometimes). In instanced zones or missions everything seems on par with what I've always experienced (ie, the occasional lag spike that everyone gets from time to time). I haven't ever been dropped out of a group due to lag though. Not lately, or before.

There's been a lot of lag recently. Every one of the 140 guild members in my guild has commented on such. It's not awful, as it only has occured in towns and not instances, but still annoying. This has been at anytime between noon and midnight EST.

My first thought was also that it could be factions updates streaming in. This is unlikely, though, as according to one of the latest press release/interviews about factions, all the content is already on our harddrives. The smaller details that I'm sure are still being hammered out and adjusted prob. wouldn't cause it this bad, right? So now I wonder if it's the start of the huge nerf --err, I mean "balance"-- coming early this week. Just a thought.

well factions is coming and tons of people are buying the game so they an be like all of us and have past experience before factions and a ton of people are coming back. I've been seeing tons more poeple lately and I think thats wat causing the lag. The servers were optimized to give as much bandwidth for as low a price as possible so maybe this can also be the reason the servers are lagging. I've experienced a ton of lag but not as much as some people are saying they've experienced. anyway lets just hope for the best.

Skill changes in 3 days. Every time we get close to an update we get major lag. You download the updates while you are playing. After update it just decompresses the data and installs.

I've been getting lots in LA and Droks. I've had a few in some other places but mainly them 2. Even in the empty districts.

Lion's Arch has become more and more of a hotspot over the last month or two, since Gaile and the Frog have been frequenting the international districts more often, with Factions ramping up and the PvE weekend nearing.
The lag has not been a problem in instances, when it's just you (and max 7 more people) there. It's just the towns that seem to be laggier than normal. It's annoying, but as long as the lag doesn't spill over into the instances too much, I can be patient and let ANET take care of it.

I have been experiencing quite the same as everyone else. hot trader spots, LA, Droks, Ascalon (mainly 1-2 districts) are horrible. I will find myselfdoing the whole running man while standing still quite often, as well as trades being laggy. As far as instances go, for the most part it's okay, but I do find lag and net errors more frequent than before.

poor matainence? In the 7 months I have had the game i can think of only 7 or so day where I had any sort of lag problems. More than half of those days were incredibly mild. Today has been really bad and after 30 min I had to stop because they game was unplayable. It will probably be better tommorow

Yeah, lots-o-lag lately. I've been all over the map and have expereinced it pretty much everywhere. I'm hoping it's just due to the upcoming update.

I've been getting hit with horrible lag also over the last few days. Any time I'm in some crowded town, such as LA 1 or Droknar's 1, the lag is terrible.
Also I have been getting this lag when out running or in Tombs where none of my skills will activate, my chat is delayed, and it keeps teleporting me back to a certain spot, so I'm unable to go anywhere until the lag stops. And this lasts 4-5 minutes, it's really horrible. It's happened to me the worst in Tombs, hit me once when running a guildie to Dunes, and I also had it when running a friend through the Jungle outposts. I don't know what in the world's going on, but at the minute this lag everyone is having is making the playing of Guild Wars very frustrating. I've also noticed Guru being very slow in loading, and also has been down frequently (getting a page saying "database error").

As I said before, all I get is horrible lag spikes in busy towns and only when I face the 1st enemy I encounter..however, I have never gotten an err=7 from it yet...YET...

I keep getting lots of lag in LA, but im ok (ish) in ascalon city. Dont really bother me as ascalon is better for trading But LA is not really that busy so dont understand why it lags so much there

Last week I got an Err 7 message two days in a row while in the middle of a mission, One was THK and the other was Dragons Lair - But as far as being in game - i haven't had any lag at all - not more then usual anyway.

Setting up a combo with a team mate is nearly impossible now. Whatever the cause, it really needs to be fixed.
Team mates are in diff parts of the world, different ISPs so it's gotta be Anet updating or something on the server end.

I lagged bad at the start of a pug mission over the weekend. There happened to be a LOT of monsters just outside town. I sat there helpless while half the team died- not a good way to introduce my healer to 5 strangers. Not sure if they believed me when I said, "did anyone else lag?"

Lag is bad lately. Whenever I enter a town, and at random times while in town, I will "rubberband" all over the place. I will "glitch" up to the merchant and then appear at him 20 seconds later. It is happening much more over the past couple weeks than it ever did before, and it is happening in any populated town.

This happened to me last night- I tried to click on a rockshot to target him with SS, but with lag, I ended up bouncing right over to him and into the middle of his flame trap- one second I am halfway across the bubble from it, the next I am right next to him and on fire.
It's been bad at outposts too. Never had any problems until recently.
