I beat him as a level 16 ele/mo as follows...

He was dead in 20 seconds and I had like 125 health left.
One option as an ele you have is to load your skill bar with one good spell, like flare, and the rest expensive spells from elements you dont have points in. Since he won't be smart enough to just spam flare like you will be doing, he will hit you with ineffectual spells from other elements and you'll easily outrace him.
I beat him as a level 16 ele/mo as follows...

I believe that doesn't work since he will have 15 or so attributes in that particular spell line? (ie, you may have water 0, but the mirror will have 15).
I still think it's kinda weird that you need to nerf yourself to nerf the image, but then you can at least kill him. That just seems weird.
Hopefully will reach my mirror tonight. Been wasting way too much time just wandering around taking pictures.

Then you have lighting in your skill bar so take it out. What ever he uses, you have in your skill bar. You have to find the skill he doesnt use.
Since your an elem do this. Bring firestorm. Hell cast it on you, just move out of the way, then you cast it on him and hell jsut stand there. Right before he lets go of his arrow move and hell miss. Dont get in melee range.

I am a Ele/Mo and just passed the mirror yesterday.
I simply put any Attunements/Glyphs/Lava Front(Just stay away from him/her) with conjure flame ( Fire Wand in hand ). I hit Conjure Flame making my Wand hit for about +13 more damage per hit and simply auto attacked him to death. It was quick and I took maybe 15% damage.

Why would he have 15? Are you suggesting that the mirror will have 15 in every line of respective skills you bring? If so, he isn't a mirror at all, he is superior to you.

Energy 12
skills: flare, 3x random attacks from lines you have no points in, res signet, 3x attunement to lines you dont have points in. All his attacks will deal like 3 to you and you will be spam flaring him for like 70 every second or so.

all you need is firestorm, meteor shower and meteor. with those i killed my mirro in around 25-30 sec.
The point is you cast those on him, but hes never going to move from the AoE. Hes gona cast those on you, but you CAN move of em.

The first time I tried it with my necro (was a n/w at the time) I had many damage and dot spells equipped and just got owned. took me a couple of times to get the loudout right but essentially I only equipped blood spells that sacrifice hp to heal allies or minions. It was quite amusing watching the mirror drop his hp casting stuff while I beat on him with a hammer.

Anyone ever learn that this is a exercse designed to show you the weaknesses in your build?
Until I figured that out I was getting my hat handed to me in under a minute.
When I went in unarmed the mirror was using something that looked like a lighting or fire double bladed ax on me.
Where it got that I have no idea; but when I went in armed with my staff the mirror armed himself with a bow.
I took about 15 or 20 tries at this until I figured out the mirror uses the spells from my bar going from right to left.
At first I tried putting minion spells in the right boxes but the smart a** ed mirror just ignored them and went for my fire storm one.
I finallyput a health sacrifice spell or 2 to the right and a healingone in the first box and immolate in the next. I got up real close and personal with the mirro so the bow was no good and we slugged it out.
Funny thing is my mirror dropped and before the yo win was posted I dropped over dead.
It seems my mirror killed the creature that killed it. I still won - he died first- and I got my credit.
((Laughed for almost 5 minutes over that))
I learned that the spells/curses that take the most time to call are my weakness. I've since switched to faster casting time skills and am doing quite well for myself.
