Asian Market in augury?
Gonzo
Wow, I was in Augury Rock Int 1 yesterday to finish up on an auction and to make the trade. But that place is like a big asian marketplace, it was almost completly full and my local chat was spammed with asian symbols followed by 15k or some other price. I forgot to took a screenie but the guy and I were both like: "Wow, look at them asians go". Maybe you can get some good bargains there, however, I have no idea what they were selling.
Anybody else ever seen an Asian market type place?
Anybody have any idea what they're selling?

dont feel no pain
true ..but ... w/mo's can farm griffons easy too , if thy "nerf" 55 monks there will always be something to take its place , you can farm griffons as w/mes , w/mo w/ nothing , same goes for monks , and not to mention normal ele's , you see you can farm griffons without using a 55 build , it doesn't matter what they nerf , it will still be possible.

dont feel no pain - quoted for truth.
Is getting the Angry Nerfbat of Noobslaying (Provokes vicious backlash +33%, +20% vs n00bs,) out for prot spirit going to change anything at all? Just about any class can solo griffons with the right setup - for example E/W with stances and ripostes is what I use. (It does get boring though.)
B.T.W If anyone wants one of those nerfbats, PM me in game and I'll tell you where to get one
/sarcasm mode cancel.

This is old news. Those asians have been in Augury rock for maybe more than 8 months now. Hell if you can only understand what they're typing, you probably would get a very good deal for a gold weapon.

I think we should declare griffons and minotaurs an endangered species soon, or they'll die out.

Korean gamers massacre Chinese over etiquette dispute

According to recent reports, South Korean Lineage players have been ganging up on Chinese players in an attempt to wipe them from Korean servers. The recent killings are a response to rumors that Chinese gamers have not been following the unspoken rule: don't take money or items dropped by a monster slain by another player.
Items from the game are sold for real money on online trading sites, and Chinese gamers have been reportedly joining South Korean servers because there are greater opportunities for making real money in these matches due to an abundance of trade. Unfortunately, Korean gamers have begun to see the Chinese presence as a threat, prompting some of these players to stage violent massacres. In areas like the Island of Dreams, where it is relatively simple to earn money, gangs of Korean players have been hunting down any Chinese player that dares to enter the region. One Korean player claims, "you can tell they are Chinese because they can't speak Korean."
Lineage continues to be plagued by identity theft, which may be linked to reports that suggest there are Chinese sweatshops where workers play ceaselessly to earn money using Korean identities. More than 220,000 South Koreans have reported their identities stolen. NCsoft, makers of the game, are aware of the virtual genocide and have begun blocking Chinese IP addresses on Korean servers. NCsoft has sided with Koreans because the company is against item trading, which NCsoft apparently considers an exclusively Chinese practice.

Nerfing Proct Spirit would not be an easy thing to d ocause it would greatly effect pvp as it would give spike a giant leap in advantage so I wouldnt expect to see anything done about protective spirit.
Maxiemonster
What I'm thinking is that some Asian rich guy pays about 10 thousand Asians to collect about 500K gold each week for him, because he thinks he's impressive that way.
MSecorsky
Solution is simple. Every monster level 20 and up gets Finger of Chaos.
Farm that.
Farm that.

15k ok

I can't find it but there was a huge article about underpaid Chinese ppl farming WoW gold so they could sell it on eBay. I'm sure they're doing the same for Guild Wars because you can also buy, if you're an evil lazy punk, GW gold on eBay.

yeah i would love for them to do that it would be the next HoD, stock up on -50 hp items everyone, then sell them for 500k+

Just make it so that all drops are split X ways, always, with X based on the maximum number of people in the zone. Cuts farming by solo players to 1/8, unchanged for those playing the game through. Sure, they can farm, but at 1/8 normal who cares. The only reason solo farming happens it the benefit, and if there were no benefit you wouldn't see solo farming.
I don't really care, you can get almost everything you need in PvE easily anyway.

darthmiho
It's not that simple, the since the -50 hp offhand is a quest reward, getting rid of it would bring into question all the other quest rewards that while low in stats that would be valuable to most people, are however extremely useful for people looking for a specific sort of boost and don't care about the primary attribute. I was reading a thread about a solo warrior build for farming the underworld, when it came to weapons the author mentioned the usual sort of items, but they mentioned for a certain part (I think it was the first mob of aataxes) that instead of an axe or other warrior weapon, the right weapon to use was a wand. Later in the thread there was a reply mentioning some wand that was available through some quest reward that had some mod that would increase attack speed. Items like this wand and the -50 are not need to be nerfed, since not everyone does imonking or any sort of ibuild, heck I haven't hit the griffins in months ever since I got my SS necro fine tuned, i've made more money working with people to farm the Orozar Highstone quest than I ever did farming griffins, though I still conceded that griffin farming while slow is as has been pointed out earlier, a stable form of farming.
thunderpower
yea... augury int1 is a place for good deals. Just have to know how to do it. I got a 15^50 axe with some damage mod for 6k (great axe)
Been there more time, couldn't figure out what they are selling, who buys/sells, what and how. But they seem to understand what i need.

For those that need proof about anet feeling on farming please read: http://www.guildwars.com/press/inter...e-friday61.php
For debate about solo farming - http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=82375 see this treed.
Problem is I would suspect they are human bot farmers that will take the gold for sale for real money.

Isn't that kind of stereotyping, saying that most of the Korean/Chinese players are Bots?..
This isn't true at all.. I say about 65% are real.. They're just playing in the american server because how the economy is with weapons and such.. It's an easy way to make money here. They just don't know much english, only simple words..so that's where their broken english comes from, think about how easy it is to say 15k ok? I've talked to alot of them and it was all the same story, they were real just trying to make money here because it was easiest...I've even seen a few of the big korean/chinese sellers PVPing in Comp Arenas..

wou shu jong gua ren. I don't know where the hell people get this analogy that asians=bots. Maybe for games like WoW that asumption would be correct, but in GW? BTW I don't know what dialect they speak but I think chinese for willing to buy is wou yao mai-direct translation"I want buy". Maybe they aren't chinese and are speaking taiwanese or korean...?

Ever play Kal Online? People credit card frauded to get itamz!1!!1!1shiftoneoneone and sell them. So yah. Diablo was another game except one build wasn't universally great.

I get accused of being a bot more than 75% of the time when I join a random group because:
a) My Monk has a name that is of the moon-language
b) I don't say much (or anything at all) when I join a random group
c) Protective Spirit spam as a prot monk
I showed Augury ID1 to two people that I know, and each of them came to the conclusion of "this is creepy." One of them thinks I might be a farmer now since I'm online so much D;
Intonation is key. "Wou yao mai" could mean "I want to sell" or "I want to buy." I think.

When I was there yesterday I tried to get a purchase, since I'm basicly broke I just tried my luck with a "WTB stance max dmg axe 3k", no response (what a suprise ) anyway I saw that I was not the only one there trying they're luck in the great asian market that is Augury ID 1.
Raif
It is an interesting and i would agree creepy experience, there is something ironic in all the french/german players etc whining about us english speakers and getting their own districts, and us whining about the influx of asian market traders or (spam screamers) that seem to live in aug european district - perhaps we should get our own korea./chinese free district too.
on the other side of the coin perhaps Aug rock should be renamed to the Marketplace and that solves the entire lets have a seperate trading area debate. Since it is so full of traders - apart from ascension - avoid at all costs unless you have all channels turned off
Alex weekes should really comment on such a blatant and obvious display of constant farming and grind.
