Theory on the speed of the game

As everyone knows, Chapter 2 Factions is coming out soon. Rumor is April, and I have read on a site an interview about Chapter 3 already in production. I was like hell, Chapter 2 coming out and Chapter 3 is to? Well as games go, the release of Chapter 2, than sooner or later Chapter 3. As storylines go would it go to fast, not enough time in between to find out all the secrets and new missions and items.
For Chapter 2-3, if Guild Wars stays alive 4-5 would be on it's way and the game would be more expanded. But just a theory.

Just because chapter 3 is "in production" doesn't mean it's anywhere near completion. I'm sure there will be plenty of time between 2 and 3 to explore the secrets of 2. They might even make us wait a year between chapters again.

True but the thing is 2 campaigns per year, that means every year expect 2 new campaigns. Said that that would increase the areas and options in the game. So in the year 2005-2006 Chapter 1 and 2. 2007-2008 Chapter 3 and 4, and so on, Many games go on for a big span of years till a sequel or an expansion. Say Diablo to Diablo 2 to Lod. Big span of years in between. Yet Guild Wars has 2 stand alone games per year.

C3 come out the end of 2006.
C4 and C5 in 2007 and so on...

its just every 6 months a new chapter...
it is not that hard to understand is it?

I don't think he has a problem understanding. I think he says they are coming out a little too close together. 6 months does not give enough time to fully explore each chapter and suck out every secret. Of course just because it is out does not mean we have to buy it on the first day (yea right).

I think it's perfect, when guildwars hit the 6 months point, a lot of people in our guild had the feeling they had done everything there is to do in the game, especially the pve part. For the most part we could keep it together, but I can imagine a lot of guilds with people that played from the start having similar problems, and in which case 2 chapters a year is just what we'd need.

As for Chapter 3 is concern after Chapter 2 hits, the constant nerfing and new items starts all over again.
Having read up on the interviews the new chapter 2 and so on are not expansions but games. What happens on one day our computer hardrives memory is completly full from all the Chapters. It would be like Chapters 1-3 on my Laptop and Chapters 4- whatever on desktop. I mean it would be wild buying all these new campaigns only to exceed the limit on memory on the computer. But dunno really.

Yes, we do know that they are coming every 6 months. It's been said about 20 times.
Also, each new chapter has a full team and a full year of development time, as was said in a recent interview. Chapter 2 started development right after GW shipped, and Chapter 3 has been in development since last November.
I think 6 months is a good amount of time between them. One has time to play through the game a few times in PvE and, of course, play some good ol' PvP. Besides, it's not like Chapter 1 is going away when you get 2 or 3. Keep playing a Chapter if you feel you haven't plumbed its depths fully for some reason.
Hard drive space and memory are not the same thing. Anyway, it's like any other game; you're not required to buy new chapters, and if you want them you may have to upgrade hard drives. Nothing new here.
These questions are about all I can decipher from your posts. Proper punctuation and grammar FTW.

So far it seems each game takes up about 1 gig or 2, thats nothing compared to games like ut2004 that take up 6 gig.

I'd much rather prefer a new game in the first half, then a patch (like Sorrow's Furnace) that expands the game later on. A year is ripe enough for me, but 6 months, go for it Anet!

It could mean one of two things: they are being like cars manufacturers and have new features but are delaying them until chapter three (car manufacturers deliberately delay new features so they have something new to entice you to buy a car every model year even though redesign is every 4 years or so) OR they just started on chapter three's new ideas.

I'm ok with 6 months periods.
The only think that makes me shivers (a lot) is that C2 will be out the same times as TESIV:Oblivion!
How will I play both?!?!?!?!?!?!

Factions isnt coming out 6 months after the original release, so why all this talk of 2 per year?
Evil Hypnotist
Took me 6 months to do everything I wanted to do in PvE really, although I haven't touched the PvP or GvG stuff yet. I'm not worried though..remember there is nothing stopping you going back to previous chapters and finishing off the extra stuff later!
Chapter 2 couldn't be put into production until Chapter 1 was a guarenteed success. There is no point expanding a product until you know there is a market for it. Now Guild Wars has proven to be a big hit Anet can continue with their plans for the expansions

Starting with Chapter 2, there will be 2 new GW games per year; ie: every six month. Chapter 2 in April (probably) and Chapter 3 in November (probably).
apoggy
heresay, the (probably) says it all really.

It's not hearsay, it's Anets announced intentions. They've repeatedly said that they're aiming for 2 chapters per year. So logically, chapter 3 will be this year. Could Anet's plans change? Yes. But this isn't just hearsay.

its like sequels to film, if uve just seen the first one. then a few months later u'll see blah blah 2&3 in the making. i think its to cut down time waiting.why not do 2 at the same time, then u have ur spare time to focus on other things like new events like winterday and others. well thats my view on it

This business plan was one of the big things that they were using to sell the game back before GW came out. No monthly fee, but more frequent expansion releases.
