taken as a given that the highest priority is getting the pro spirit skill, i have a lvl 4 monk just in from pre. my thought pattern is to find cheap runners to lions arch and get the sig cap quest there, and go to mission at d'anglesio (sp) and tag along till boss that has it dies and capture the ps skill. now here's my main problem with my plan. i cant use the sup runes (even if i could afford them). i would have -hp before i used the -20 or -50 offhand.

would i beable to use the major or minor runes to have the same effect of sup till i get to a lvl that would require them??

im trying to figure out a way to play a lvl 5 or 6 55monk.

Although PS is a huge part of 55 monks, Some of the other skills are very important as well. You need some way to keep your health up, just because you have 55 hp, doesnt mean you wont take damage. I believe that you should have 100 hp or more at your level. I think one sup rune (and possibly the addition of one major rune) would suit you well. If you cant afford sup runes, then I would go with majors for the time being. Remember that if your going to tag along, you would have to stay alive, so having 20 hp or so wouldn't help you there. Also, remember that you dont have to have 55hp, you can have less. In some cases its actually very helpfull to have less than 55 hp.

until level 19, it's almost always possible to have between 10 and 20hp, which is perfect for prot-spirit builds. At level 19 you end up with 35hp, and obviously at lvl 20, 55hp. Just play around with fortitude mods, or -20/-50hp offhands, sup runes, and major runes.

thank you, that is the info that i was looking for. you never see that kind of information on the forums, due to everyone being lvl 20 at pvp, or this is what kind of build im using at lvl 20. i am a pve player myself, and i thank you for your responses.

It may sound counterproductive, but you can also add vigor runes to your set to tweak your hp. I used that tactic combined with 60dp to end up at 8hp to farm ettins.

why even start the 55 build at what ever llv u are only good way to start it is lvl 20 and with full runes.. like i say if your gonna do it do it right.. and capping a normal skill is a waste.. i forgot where to get prot spirit but im sure its not out of the way in any towns

You get prot spirit from the quest blood and smoke outside ventari's refuge or you can buy it in amnoon oasis or capture from some boss dude

However i don't know why you want to make a 55 at such a low level?
You only really get the benefit when your attributes are maxed, With this build you may keep yourself alive but you'll be doing very little damage!

To know how to obtain low HP, just calculate some:

Your Maximum HP + (Offhand) + (Rune1) + (Rune2) + (Rune3) + (Rune4) + (Rune5)

Say you have 260 maximum hp:

260 - 50 (Offhand) - 50 (Rune1, major) - 50 (Rune2, major) -50 (Rune3, major) -50 (Rune4, major) +0 (Rune5, minor) would net you 10 hp.

I would suggest that you just play regular Monk till your level 20 cuz your gonna have to tweak your runes+others everytime you lvl=Pain in the ***
