Scamming...

Hi, There is a guy going around at the moment (i dont know if i should say his name here) but he is claming to be selling his Guild Wars Account. well my cousin decided to try this. my cousin gave him 4 green items, then the guy left. i just seen him again in War camp doing the same, is there anything that can be done about people like this?

Yes, take screenshots and send to anet. Also, yes, avoid giving his name on these forums, as it is against the rules, and there is nothing guru could do to rectify the situation anyway.

I'd like to add that attempting to buy accounts from other players is also against the rules, so if the transaction had occurred, it would've probably ended up in a suspended account anyway.

Take it to support... see what they do. But I honestly don't think letting them know your friend was trying to buy an account will help things.

However, your cousin will almost certainly get nothing out of it. Anet does not return 'stolen' or 'accidentally deleted items' [Nor are they the only company that does this].

There's a note in one of them about not reselling accounts, and how they're non-transferable. Probably just for this reason. A little precaution and reading goes a long way.
