Funniest/Best moments in RA? (Or in game?)

Well I've been reading a lot of depressing or serious forum threads recently and I thought it's high time for something more light hearted.

I remember quite a long time ago, I think 8 or more months ago I was just starting to get into PvP, and I was in the random arenas. There was a guy on our team, he said, "Okay I've been winning a lot recently with this great new tactic, just follow exactly what I do and we'll be sure to win! Go team!"
So we all agreed and when the timer hit 0:00 he ran out a short way, went around a bit and we followed him. He started leading us in circles and the opposing team stood there, must have been thinking "wtf are they doing!". So anyways this guy says "Okay it worked, Ready?" we all say "ready".
At this point about 2 minutes had passed and the enemy team were starting to edge towards us. The guy quickly takes off all his armour, runs straight at the enemy shouting "G UNIT!!!!!" and dies, then quits the game.

Well it was a fantastic waste of time but at the time it was hilarious. Thought I'd add this to the forums as a funny memory in guild wars =) anyone else?

yay I love these types of threads. So I was in a random arena around august, the team was made of the folowing professions:

R/Me
Mo/W
Mo/W
Mo/W

So we all run out and the 3 monks all were telling eachother how they are the best 55 Monk in the world... we faced 5 teams and not a sing one of them had any enchantment removal... I was starting to doubt the Guild wars community. I had Natures Renewal in my skill bar and all I Knew from the first match not to use it. Well enough was enough lol. So I take out Natures Renewal and BAM The 3 monks drop dead and the other team looks at me and goes. "Yay You killed the Invisi monk team" and then i died ^_^

I join a game and all three of my teammates leave before it starts.

I join a game and get in a team with myself (a w/mo) another w/mo, a r/me and a n/me. We end up steamrolling through 35 wins.

This was a good time.

This was back before hexes were really a problem in RA, I was farming faction with the boon prot. THeir team had two monks, and our team had me. We came to a stand still, neither team could kill each other, so everyone left except me and this other monk. We had a 90 minute stand off, he eventually went AFK and I won, lol.

I was playing my damage/infini-stance ranger in RA and it got down to me on my team, a hurt necromancer, a warrior and a ranger on the enemy team. I finish off the necromancer and because the warrior didn't bring Wild Blow I finished him off. Unfortunately I don't do that much damage to the last ranger as I've got all fire damage. I would be able to kill him in a straight fight but of course, we have a runner on our hands.

Now I have a no-tolerance policy against that kind of stuff so I follow him around, shooting him. A couple of my teammates have stuck around to support me and heckle the runner. At one point he says he's copied my build, then 10 minutes later he tells me that the skills I'm using are gay. Of course he's constantly telling me that it's my fault for not bringing a snare (of course every build you run in RA should have a snare, and interrupts, and enchantment removal, and everything you happen to need at the time). Hindsight 20/20 and all that. Anyway he's bragging about how long he can stay and everything and how he'll never leave.

Anywho at about 25 minutes in he goes into this little nook beside a bridge (we're at Fort Koga) and I bodyblock him in. You can see him desperately try to leave, but he's going nowhere. Careful not to move anywhere, with Whirling Defense up I patiently put down Favorable Winds, then Conjure Flame, then Kindle Arrows and proceed to smack him down. Before he leaves he mentions that he "meant to do it."

my favorite was when i was on a team and we were on like 5 wins. and our real monk decides to leave. right after a new mission starts. so then another guy leaves and me and the smiting monk decide wtf lets go have fun its the crag arena. we can have fun for 3 minutes. we wind up winning 6 to 1 as i defeat the team of 3 warriors and a monk who first kill the smiter and then are unable to bring down a simple ranger/warrior.

i got a few (been there a lot!! , unlocked all my skills + items through faction in RA so meh)

ok my top 3 moments

1. you know that ramdon arena with like sort of sails and stuff and its like a cross with a platform going through the middles and little stairs on each part , well i trapped the centre part through out the whole battle , then i ran off , my whole team is dead ^^ , the opposing team (a ele, necro and monk and the other left) they all ran through the centre part , at the exact same time LOL , instant death , trapping ftw!!! lol 3 dead at once

2. when i got into a 4 healing monks team , lol staffs for the win , (we had 2 flawless victories then got totaly owned by 2 mesmers)

3. when i was bored the other night so i made a altered mending build hehehe

funny thing was it was realy effective compared to the average paladin, and unlike most build it does not require a healer to stay alive

i called him "noob for breakfast" hehehe , i was posing a normal paladin but it acauly went ok hehehe

the best thing was i got into a decent team and we had like 6 wins then this team comes along and our monk leaves in battle , everyone falls but me , i killed both of thier monks (one was realy bad and had like 300 health my hundred blade + galrath slash +final thrust combo instnatly killed him ^^) and
the other was easy when he was by himself , then i took down their anoyying mesmer that kept spamming conjure phantism and empathy , then what was left ..... o you guessed it a w/mo , pre-made paladin omg that was fun , he attacked me and i attafcked him , by the time i got his health below 25% he had got mine to like 95% and i just did a healing sigit and he was like "HAXX!!" ,

"you noob i own you , but you hacking your charactor ,

"this gaming is f****** unfair , you f****** noob!!!!"

i was like O_O lol ,

ok so what does he do , he sprints off (it was just me and him) and the funniest part of all , he casts healing hands like from ages away , them he started shouting "hahaha seee i pwnd you , healing hands owns" ( i wasn't even near him , it was doing nothing ^^) ,

then later on he claimed i was cheating and that i must had been a higher rank which made me more powerful than him ^^ ,

he said he was going to report me.....(for owning him lol ^^)

... then he has another go at hitting me , for some crazy reason he kept recasting mending O_O, i let him take my health down to 75% and just did another healing sigit , his health was like 50% and i was saving hundred blades + galrath slash + final thrust ,

then he started screaming see
"im owning you hahahaha"
(i do my combo) .. and he died instantly
"WTF nooob!!!!, you cheated" he left O_O

lol and we win hehehe it was funny

I fought 4 wammos once.

Only the other day I was playing RA with S E V E R on a spiker build. On about my 3rd or so entry I couldn't believe my luck, 3 other spikers! We quickly recognised this and set up TS before entering combat. Every team we went up against probably couldn't believe their bad luck as even with just 4 of us we managed to bring the members down one by one. It was fun ^^

once i was playing in RA with my sorry excuse of an interrupter ranger. my team gets into a very close match with a team that's almost identical to ours. at about the 3 minute mark, one of my teammates tells me to go disable the opponents' interrupter ranger. so i turn on stormchaser and prepared to throw dirt that ranger into oblivion. then i noticed, the ranger turned on stormchaser and began to run towards me. i was like what's up with this? we charged straight towards each other, and used throw dirt in perfect synchronized fashion, effectively taking each other out of the game for over 10 seconds. we looked like mirror images for a little while, both throwing dirt in each other's faces.

mine was when i first got ma 55monk setup, i thought lets test it b4 ma GvG so went into RA then into battle guess wat all 4 of us were monks

im like

"hey im gonna need some healing" (calls health)

ends up there all 55 monks themselves

i couldnt believe it so becaus it was 1 of my first PvP 55 try the leader called his moves for me so i knew wat skill 2 use and when 2 use it

we won lots of rounds, and i gained so much 55build xp i was so glad, then we encountered 3 mesmers >.< OUCH it was so fun tho even tho the mesmer responce was

"LMAO 4 invinci monks OMG get original, u n00bs"

we all just said o well u lose some u win some gg gl hf the rest of the way

Bringing a 55monk into PvP is damn pathetic. You lose.

1. 3 monks and a ranger(me) vs 3 monks and a warrior = waste of time

2. back on those days when we were able to test ritualist and assassin,
so... i was an assassin in team and we were fighting team like this: W, Me, Mo and N, all ally party members exept me died, before that i managed to kill the N. after that i started to run because of my low health. After i had enought health the enemy monk came from other direction than Me and W and tried to stop me, i saw that Me and W were far away and i killed the monk and continued the running. after while Me tried to do same as the monk but i killed her too and continued running. W ressed Mo and Me, but i killed both again and continued running. when i had full hp i tought that i were able to kill warrior so i turned around and attacked. i would have killed him, if he hadn't blocked my 2nd attack. as a coward i started to run again... but at the stairs i got teleported to corner and got stuck by the warrior and died...

I was playing with my boon prot monk
they had 2 bonder monks. an IW mesmer and a w/mo.

we had me, a mesmer who only disabled the warrior, a minion master (?) and a n/me who did nothing but running circles

their w/mo and mesmer were following me but unable to hurt me, thanks to our mesmer, and we couldn't kill them because we lacked killing power/interrupts

40 minutes and some dances later they left, and we won.

While I was playing war and messing around with combos to go with every war elite skill, I found that I was able to shut down a few mesmers (ironic) with a flourish (nice that it doesn't cancel stances as it isn't a stance itself), desperation blow, savage slash, wild blow, balanced stance, combo.

1) As usual, the opposing team's monk stays way back while their other jobs run out in front - so I thought "Maybe I should attack this mes cuz he's just begging to be attacked", and I do (since everyone else was going for the monk anyways).

And so I activate balanced stance and desperation blow - *bam* a hit

The mes realizes that I'm attacking him and starts casting empathy - *bam* savage slash.

I activate flourish to recharge desperation blow and savage slash and attack again.

The mes got careless thinking that I couldn't interrupt anymore after the first time and kept spamming spells - I use savage slash and *bam* interrupted spirit of failure.

Now after his health gets low he pulls out signet of midnight - I get blinded and can't do anything but use healing sig while I wait.

After a couple rounds of repeated blinding, I get lucky and manage to savage slash the signet of midnight.

The mes runs for a bit and casts diversion - I use desperation blow and thought "damn, I screwed up", but then realized to use flourish (lol).

A bit later the mes was dead.

I activate balanced stance and desperation blow - *bam* a hit

The mes realizes I'm attacking her and uses distortion - *bam* wild blow - distortion ends

The mes tries to run, but is crippled, so she casts gale.

I thought "damn she's gonna get away" - nothing happens, then I realize balanced stance was still on (damn I'm an idiot)

Mes goes down, 'nuff said...

I know of course, that this was mostly just luck since I was just spamming desperation blow and savage slash, but that just makes these moments all the more "best/better".

Umm.. back in the old NR days.. I had many 55 monks in about 10 RA runs straight..

I got sick of it, and I played my pve ranger a lot back then.... so I grabbed nature's renewal... and I wait for my uhm... 55 monk, right, he rushes at them all bravely and says he can handle them and we can sit back..

And I ask him to please get the hell out of the competition arenas, proceed to cast nature's renewal.... he dies in under a second, so I throw up whirling defense, run into the middle of my enemies and /dance on my ally's corpse.. it was pleasing. He flipped out and whisper-spammed me after rage-quitting... I reported him and he didn't come back on for a week and then started bitching at me for getting him suspended.... gg, ignore list.

1. Back when there was a flameslinger premade, I was playing a slightly modified version of it. We were something like 7 or 8 games into a winning streak when we face a team with a ranger who appeared to be playing a similar build. Eventually we were the last two standing, with used rez sigs. We're sitting there plinking away at each other, my team is yelling at me to run, but I knew I had her beat. I had distracting shot, she didn't, so we both had troll unguent, but she couldn't use hers. Interrupts FTW.

2. When I first decided to try playing monk, I went into random arenas with the FiBoon premade. The first match I played we lost horribly and it was entirely my fault, I had no idea what I was doing. So I went in again and won 11 in a row, including several flawlesses, one of which was on the lava map.

3. On another occasion when I was testing my monking skills, I ended up on a team with a W/Mo who opened every battle by casting vital blessing and mending...on me. That was the first time I really wished there was a /hug emote.

4. I was on the lava map with my "anti-dumb warrior, worthless against everything else" build. I cast spiteful spirit, empathy, and insidious parasite on a warrior. He literally killed himself in about 3 seconds, then immediately ragequit.

why is it that the "fun time" idea imediatly turns into people braggin about how much ass they kick?



My most favorite time was when i first started playing. and my pal and i had never played any mmorpg before.. so we had just gotten into this game.. and all i hear is "will strip for money" and "naked strip dance party near the water".. most people would prolly either just ignore it or bail.. not use we striped down naked and when partying.. after a bit my pal said to me in msn.. cause we talk through that with voice and such.. "you know these are all prolly a buncha 14 year old dudes right? so slowly at the exact same time. without tellin each other.we just backed outa the massive group of naked people at the water.. and put our clothes back on......well it was kinda funny at the time..there is my lame non braggin story about a funny moment

I brought edge and a monk was fooling around and bipped himself to death and it chained an eoe bomb cause our team had a 55 monk and theirs did too.

Oh another one I remember - back in Ascalon arena when my monk was like level 6 or something, I had healing, smiting, divine favour. So I'm in 1 on 1 with a ranger or something I don't remember, I can't do much damage to him, but I keep healing and he keeps attacking me, eventually my team kills everyone and eventually this guy. After we zone into the next match, I get spam-PM from this guy "NOOB WHY DID YOU KEEP HEALING THAT'S SO CHEAP!"

Just find it funny, but it was Ascalon arena I guess.

My first experience in competition arenas was with my PvE W/Mo shortly after he made it to Lion's Arch. That's right - no elites, only half of the skills available, etc.

After the first match I realized that I was completely overmatched and no one was targeting me until the end.

So...I come up with the novel idea to use my W/Mo as a HEALER, charging into battle and healing others instead of using attack skills. That's what paladins do after all in other games, right?

Needless to say, after 10 seconds my whopping 20 energy was drained and I was scrambling to do ANYTHING but chase around the enemy monk. In the end, I was the last party member left and was busy chasing around the enemy monk as the 3 members of the other team sat back and started synchronized dancing.

I think we need a "fav PvP moments" thread for the braggers.

Funny incident for me was shortly after getting enchanter outfit for my mesmer. I was in Abaddon' Mouth looking for a group and there was this necro trying to do /rock so his character (very ugly one to) would be hugging my sexy mesmer. Well she/I were having none of that so I kept moving her around. Finally I got him to give up when I ran and stood inside a large male warrior. Well the necro didn't want to hug the warrior and I could not even be seen standing in him his armor was so big. So the necro left. The warrior probably wondere what the hell was going on though, some mesmer stands inside him and then waves as the necro leaves

Playing with guildies in the UW, FoW, Tombs (uw) and doing random missions for fun

The RA memory that sticks out most for me was back in the days of E/Mo smite. I went into RA with a smite build (which I was very good with), and in the end of match, it was down to me against another team (4 people). I don't recall the team makeup (I have screens but I'm not at home), but it was great fun to see the reactions of both sides as I massacred them. I'll post a screen when I get home.

Playing a team of four warrior as they charge towards us I cast spitful spirit on the middle one and they proceed to attack one of my team. They all die within seconds of each other. They res as it is the res mission and do the same again, I ss them and they die. Pretty funny as they did not realise what i did.

Was in Heroes Ascent playing balanced build. Enemy team had 8 monks. After a long and silent battle we won. Then out of nowhere someone from our team says: "8 monks and you still can't heal for sh*t."
Had us all cracking up laughing.

Too many of these stories, but in general. The typical..

*Enemy Target comes after you while you're being manhandled by left over Enemy Team*
Enemey Target: lolol pwned cuz u suk
You: Yeah, it wasn't the life transfer, conjure phantasm or constant midnight signet, it was you and your rainbow dyed pvp armor.

But heres my most recent scenario against some W/R with a Victo's Blade blue drok's platemail and probably a plain old shield. (His health was degening, because he didn't have a constant regen)
Me: Victo's Blade sucks.
*We fight, I kill him in under 30 seconds*
*My team dies within 30 seconds as well and I'm getting interrupted left and right but still manage to be able to get Glad's Defense up*
*Enemy Target is ressed*
*He gets one hit on me before I die*
Enemy Target: it sucks but it beat u

You might not all realise it, but stories about how you once singlehandedly p00ned an entire team aren't tickling my funny bone..

the funniest time was prob when a mesmer was trying to interrupt me and hex my W/R in Random

He used backfire, and Power spike, Power Leak, Power Block, and screamed at what a hacker i was because it wouldn't work.

I was in RA, my teams was: Player 1 (myself has IW mesmer), Player 2 (Necro), Player 3 (Monk), Player 4 (Monk). So, I saw that I was the tank in this team. At the start of the fight. The team got 4 message from the nec:

-I am using Blood is Power on Player 1
-I am using Blood is Power on Player 3
-I am using Blood is Power on Player 4
-I am using Blood Renewal on Player2

Player 2 dies

/Clap
Player 3 & 4 laugh

Player 2 left the party.

This is something i posted in the "Biggest Jerk" thread but it is still the funniest thing that i have seen in game. Keep in mind that this was in the Courtyard of ToPK
