Unreliable Norton Security
Daithi the wolf
Ive had Norton Internet security since i got my pc as the standard internet security. However now bugged because it cant update hence its about 6 months behind.Whenever I try to update it just says script error.I cant re-install because Im pretty sure there is no disc with the computer for installation.Does anyone know anyway of repairing it or perhaps reinstalling off somehwhere?

All Norton products now come with a 12 month licence, so if you have had it for more than 12 months You will have to buy the new version or switch to a free product. (I recommend AVG free for anti-virus & Zone Alarm for firewall)

If you have Norton Internet Security 2006, you may just want to replace it.
Apparently NIS 2006 is a broken product.
Go to www.amazon.com and check out the user reviews.
I think the regular Norton Antivirus 2006 is still ok, though.

Since I'm behind a Nat Router, I perfer free solutions for the security side of things.
For Firewall I use (Free) Sysgate Personal Firewall
For Anti-Spyware (all free) Windows Defender, Ad-Aware, and Spybot Search and Destroy
For Anti-Virus I use (Paid) NOD32. I do have the ability use Symantec Anti-Virus (from work take home) but perfer NOD32 for it very light system resources.
I mean to suggest this is alternates if you can't norton back. Can you maybe install the trial version on top the current version to maybe repair it.
