As of late I've been noticing a surprising number of threads and posts that've quite literally stopped existing... one minute I'm reading a thread on how anet doesn't listen to consumer criticism and when I come back to it a bit later.. no thread.
So I guess my question is this.. what exactly is the extent of the mod's powers to delete threads? Are they able to or should I just take off my tinfoil hat and walk away? -- And, if they do indeed have that power.. woudn't it be more effective to close a thread instead and tell why you're closing it? this way it would stand as a reminder and an example to others.. as opposed to just blinking it from existence without giving reason or rhyme..
edit: for clarity.

Well, since this is vague and generalized I really have no way of knowing which threads you are referring to. Most likely the threads were closed because of flames and no redeeming value, or they were moved into a more appropriate section (such as Q&A). If you have a question about why a particular thread was moved please send me a PM and I'll be happy to look into it.

I'm assuming this is being taken care of on a private basis. If anything else arises, feel free to pm us.
