want to buy used gw

Hey

anybody know where I can buy a used copy ( or key ) of GW??

I tried searching ebay and found the following:

Will this game work, does the version of the game matter? (looks pretty old from the cover)......as gw keeps updating itself.

I already have a copy of the game and just need another account so that me and my bro can play together. do u think the account from this game would work on my current game?

You really can't, since the key is useless after you activate an account; then, the only thing that matters is your email/pass combo. That's what gives you access to your account.

I know www.game2go.net used to sell just the key online ($30 IIRC), and you could download the client, but it seems to be down right now...

I guess it comes down to how much you trust the seller. I wouldn't.

Buying an account from eBay is a bad idea. There are people that post here on Guru that ask "lik omg y mah account be bannedzorz!??" The other shoe drops, and they later reply that they bought a key off of eBay.

Reasons against buying:
a) Account could be retrieved by the original owner once payment is recieved (you get ripped off)
b) Account could be ready to be whacked with the perma-banstick for repeated scamming/violations, and that's why it's on eBay (you get ripped off)
c) Violation of EULA to buy/sell these accounts - if ArenaNet finds out, you get whacked with the perma-banstick
d) What actually makes you think that they'll actually give you a valid account/email address?

Go to your local retailer and pick up a copy instead.
