I know that the site is very overloaded and has become very popular, have you all ever thought about making a donator or subscription type status? Pay a few dollars a month (totally optional) and your name is gold or a "donator" title or such and you can maybe access a "premium member" hangout type forum? I just think that with the ammount of people it would be a great way to make up the costs of the server. Of course I don't know who pays, or if you are paying.. or if the guru name is like a franchise type thing.
Of course just note, if you do not pay it does not set you apart in anyway and you can still do all the same things you do now.
Anyhow, just a thought.
Donators, premium members?

In regards to performance, WoW Guru is getting more and more popular, so we are actually moving it to its own server (hopefully tonight). Ideally we are also looking into getting a second server for this site.
In regard to what you offered - stay tuned ....

In regard to what you offered - stay tuned .... That is great to hear, when I showed my boss (the owner of www.hostgator.com /plug) he was pretty amazed at the size of the forum and the amount of members active and online. He said himself there was no way this thing could run without its own dedicated server.
I am staying tuned though. *Get's ready to whip out his credit card*

The server we are on (shared, but most load is from the guru sites) is a packing Dual Xeon + 4gb ram + SCSI drives. But just as how GWGuru grew *fast*, WoWGuru is also growing fast, and we are moving that to its very own dedicated. GWGuru maybe also

Are GWGuru and WoWGuru sharing a server right now? If so, then at least GWGuru will have more resources. If not.. get us on a dedicated! Not that I do not like WoW but I have enough trouble trying to keep up with there official forums.

Well as of right now, the server hosts guildwarsguru.com, wowguru.com, eq2guru.com, cohguru.com, and a few other misc small sites.
The first two sites generate roughly 95% of the traffic. GuildWarsGuru was roughly 80%, but WoWGuru is growing *fast*, and thus causing headaches.
We have had to customize quite a few PHP compilation flags to make WoWGuru work, which takes away from tweaks we can enable for GWG.
Anyhoo, it should become better soon
