PC on rare skin Jeweled Staff and Deadly Cesta

Seeing that wood planks sell a lot quicker than staves and upgrades, I have the habit of salvaging almost everything I come across now of these days unless it catches the eye. This staff happens to be one of the few that managed to survive the transition from staff to parchments. It's missing a halves casting speed mod but as I mentioned before, such a loss hardly bothers mesmers who are fast casters themselves. Anyway, it has a rare twin-dragon skin, so I was wondering how much something like this would sell for:

INSIGHTFUL JEWELED STAFF OF SHELTER (twin-dragon skin)
Energy +10
Chaos Dmg: 11-22 (req. 9 Illusion Magic)
Halves skill recharge of Illusion Magic spells (Chance: 20%)

if u get scammed, dont ever tell the dudes name here! the scammers are being protected by guru, they see the scamming RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO as a victem of fanatic players. so if someone u know on guru scamms you, there is nothing you can do to prevent the player to scam more people from guru, because.. hey, why the heck would some1 wanna know names of scammers right?


GG guru, imo lost 6 of the most active, most helping and most experienced pricecheckers & highrollers on buying stuff. i got 2 words for guru, one is a resemblence to my name and the other one is You!


to make this post legit:

u can sell the staff for some nic eprice, maybe more then 15k because its a nice skin (same as rago) and since its 20% recharge, and most mesmers allready ahve faster casting, i would aim a bit higher and try to sell it for lets say 30-40k. maybe more even, u never know if there is a collector out there. seeing a mesmer with a ragoskinned item rox

It's a real pity for gamers to have lost such helpful and experienced players... Haven't had the game for long (a little over two months) but you guys have truly helped my introduction into the world of prized, and shall I say, exotic weaponry. I can't wait to be able to afford some of the stuff you guys have for sale or purchase in auctions... > 500k-1 million just for one item!!! How do you guys manage to get that much gold and ectos??? Compared to some of you out there, my 200k will probably get me a toothpick and a butter knife...lol Anyway, are they banned for good or are they allowed to return after some time?

but i can tell you, they were pretty pissed.. dunno if they will help guru to pricecheck again. its strange, but guru relies on these people. they made the market, they made the sell forums for what it is. they decided what items were good. banning them is more like sticking a dagger in your own back. gg guru

try zealous and dont use it while trapping use a staff for that

Have a better zealous short bow so I don't really know what I'll do with this one... Stick it in storage I guess...

As for trapping, I use a fire wand (5^50) and collector's flame artifact... Back up is a collector's fire staff... WS16/Expertise 12/Beast 4/Fire Magic 9 for Inferno or any other area effect spell that can do some extra dmg if things go wrong...

I like most of 'em all -- but even I understand why they were banned for however long they were. Would they like it? No. I sure wouldn't if it were me, but whatever. They did something, taunted the circumstances, and thats that . But to say that Guru stabbed itself in the back, etc. is a big stretch. Perhaps the sheer amount of gold that Akh got scammed out of is clouding judgement here -- but there's still principles that guide the flow of these Forums. As I understand it, their intent is to curb Slander and Libel. The only ones who would know what happened between Akh and whoever it was that scammed him, are those two parties, ONLY. Arenanet would have a log of chat and trades, but cannot definitively discern the spirit of what was said between those two parties. Anything else to Anyone else would be hearsay, and it's THAT that I believe Guru is trying to curb.

I for one am glad they stand behind theyre principles. It makes most everything fair. In fact, some may see this post as flaming you, but thats not the intent; I'm just saying how I see it, since ppl seem to freely lambast Guru.

i understand what u mean but with "stabbing itself in the back" i mean that malice, bacon, thor, shadowfell, voutlaw.. all got banned, and those were the red line in pricechecking. if u said 100k and one of them said 10k, it was 10k. no questions asked... they were the main reason why this site is stable for pricechecks, thats what im calling "stabbed itself in the back"

That's exactly what it is: A story. Whether its very much true (which im inclined to believe) or just slander -- its still based upon hearsay. The ONLY people who know what happened is Akh and the other person.

--- While I do not believe this, this could very well have happened with these parties or other, unrelated parties: What is to stop someone who is regarded on a Gaming forum to 1) come on here, with doctored screenshots showing the target's name and transaction 2) doctor up some in-game dialogue and 3) proceed to smear the target's name all over the forums, never to be trusted again by known sellers and buyers?

From what I understand, THAT is why Guru has that policy in place. An example: what's to stop you from doctoring screens of you selling a serpent axe to me for 500k, but instead of ecto, you doctor in mursaat tokens. Poof -- theres the hand in the cookie jar, the proof that "confirms" other people's suspicions of scammery. I imagine tweaking screenshots isnt rocket science, however the fallout would be disastrous.

While I have my own opinions of the incident that occured and am very much inclined to believe one party over the other, that's not my place to say that that's exactly what happened, because I don't know. All I would have to go on is someone's word over another's.

Look -- the point is, if Guru let that slide, where would they draw the line? In fact, why not just let all the threads run rampant about scammers names and why not just post a sticky at the top of every forum warning ppl of scammer's names?? What's to stop someone from posting MY name or YOUR name, etc. Get my point?

It's not easy to uphold the rules, especially when it may concern a friend in-game, but its gotta be done. Anyway, I've said my peace on this.
