Selling confirmation

Ok so I did a FoW farm run last night, and to my shock there were 3 chests in the field!!!!! Of corse I had 3 keys luckily, and each chest happened to be gold so the first 2 were nothing to write home about, and on the third...tada a low req gold chaos axe....of course I just just used my last identify on the previous item so I couldnt see what it was. Upon returning after a wierd lag out (luckily we were done anyways) I went to the merchant to sell stuff since my inv. was full, so I could buy an identify kit, of course, I had a little lag selling the item above the chaos axe, and of course the axe vanish before my eyes...I wanted to cry...I guess its better to have never known what it was :-p But I think if you try to sell a gold item it should ask you are you sure!? Anyways, thats all.

There already is a confirm button. It's the "sell" button. If you're experiencing lag, always make sure the item yo uwant to sell is highlighted.

some suggestions for you pure:
1) disable all your inventory bags except the backpack at the traders
this prevents that you sell your 2nd set of armor, other weaponsets, ...
2) get a quest item and put it into your backpack - now, when you are outside looting you put the "nice" stuff behind it: the moment you hit a merchant that item will block the "clicking finger of doom" and thus you won't be selling the "nice" items that come after it.
you are lucky you "just" sold an unid gold chaos axe, there have been more important things going the eternal path into sidon's pockets *shrug*

Ive sold 15% stance axes before, ONE chaos axe skin (havent been to lucky with the drops) and one which i had been using for over two months, with perfect mods on it too... I had a thread in off-topic about an enchant mod that i salvaged and got a cruel hilt... If you want to dig up a fun thread, feel free to add!

Actually, wouldn't the idea of having the ability to 'Buy Back' the ite you just sold be great? Through many years of Diablo 2, I don't know how many times that feature saved me.
The way I would have it would be, say, you sell an ecto for 100 gold to the merchant. You cry. But then! you realize, it has a buy-back price of 250!
All is good for the seller and the merchant makes a -profit- and you erase your mistakes. It's like a pencil, quite lovely, is it not?
I woud add more, but it's stupidly late and I have school in 6 hours..

Buy back option might be nice. But alas i've never accidentally sold anything. Yet there is always a first time for everything. Now the whole salvaging wood from a perfectly modded high req trash item been there done that to many times. OUCH! lol oh well guess it just saved me 3 hrs in LA trying to fight spam to sell it.
