Name Customized weapons
Minus Sign
The thread name says it all. Its those little extras that make a game worth palying hour on end, and the ability to name that favored farming/pvp weapon would rock, imho. Wouldn't it be sweet when that gold Crippling Axe of Fortitude becomes "The Droks Runner" in your Wa/Mo's 4th weapon slot? When you take a weapon to a weapons merchant, you should have the option to change the name. After all, if Rangers can name THEIR pets, why can't I name my baby?

/sign as long as its for customized weapons only... and make it like 1k a word or something so it makes a good money sink.. Rilder's Hunting Bow FTW
LaserLight
Or just a flat 1K for the priviledge of naming it :-P
Me, I don't weant to sink any more than 1K into it, but I'd do the 1K, sure. Still, doubt they'd do this, even if it'd be cool.

"I'm wielding an Uber-godly pwnsword of Noobslaying"
Somehow this idea doesn't thrill me.

as long as they have filters so you can't use offensive words or have words like uber, godly etc.

/signed..................As long as its on customized weapons only. I wouldn't want the option on items that you can still trade unless you have the option to change the name once you purchase it from someone..............I don't want someone elses stink on my sword, even if it is a max crystalline or fellblade.

How about....if you "name" an item, it gains a new name based on the mods and the name of the customizer.
Sundering Long Sword of Fortitude -> (Insert Character's nam)'s Sundering Longsword. Certain mod combos would give more unique names.

how can you compare naming a pet to a weapon :?
Nevin
When a weapon is customized it should read..
Instead of-
Sundering Great Axe of Fortitude
Nevin's Sundering Great Axe of Fortitude (With some cool font or something)

It might help if the person that names their customized weapon is the only one that can see the custom name; everyone else would see it's regular name.
This might not be as cool, but I would still pay 1k to change the name.

Give users the option of toggling whether or not they want to see the customized weapon names.
I, for one, would like to rename my Ranger's "Drago's Flat Bow" to "Drago's Rocket Launcher."

LOL, Flatbows are the antithesis of rocket launchers.
Naming weapons would be interesting, but opens up potential for abuse. Then again, if people are offended by that sort of thing and don't set their chat filter accordingly, it is their fault.

i wouldn't actually name it but, but say
"The Best Mighty Man's Razorstone"

How is this any different at all than naming a pet?
I see no problem.

Get yourself a green item, I think this would be a waste of time. I personally think it's cool enough to yield... THE YAKSLAPPER!

hm..i do admit, i miss being able to name my crafted wepons....i used to make them in Soma...
many a new player in thier beginers clothes, begging for a training wepon by the forge got a wep crafted by Mishakal of elisian forge hehe...
i especialy like making wepons for friends that had names associated with them, like when a character was Named (that is, a name from a book/show/game ect)
lots of us had special stuff by famous crafters who used to add their name on it...or if you were lucky, YOUR name on it ^^
would be signed, but need to be carefully regulated to weed out some of the shockers that will creap in, otherwise...
allow pvp players to name after a certain amount of whatever they deem (since i dont pvp other than the snowball, i know little of what their requirements are)
pve have to maybe quest to alow each character the privelige of getting a nameable item..or maybe make a extra rare rune, thats no drop, no trade, no store...that allows you to name an item....will still cost 1k to do it, mind, because you have to go the the Namer to do it and ge the rune applied, and he charges 1k for materials for the magic

As long as the same filter is applied to this as is applied to naming pets and characters; and once a weapon is customized, it becomes "x's Great Bow of Greatness" I can't really see a problem.

I think adding Chaeracter name would be good enough like "_____'s (weapon name)"
Like I'm wielding a "Life Infusion's Air Wand".

Only if you can toggle it on/off and it only adds the characters name to the start of the weapon not just anything they want

All the people saying "well only if it just puts the character's name in the front"--are you equally opposed to naming pets? Would you prefer to see <character's> Elder Black Widow? Seems a bit hypocritical.
In addition--when the hell do you ever -see- the name of anyone else's weapon? Just when they call it out, right? And honestly, how often is that?
Ugh.
