Trader ratings and Feedback for sell forums

Hello there;
Just wanted to start up a thread for people to give their imput on how this system could be fairly worked back into the site for traders.

The topic has came up in regards to scammers recently and while this is in no way a fool proof system perhaps with enough good ideas we can find a way to make it as balanced as possble.

The old system was apparently taken out when they did their site upgrades according to Inde and while there were problems with the old system I found it to be a somewhat decent way to get an overall idea of what type of trader you were dealing with.

My first thoughts on it would be to make sure that people must use a real thread link that they had actually made a trade with the person they are leaving feedback for just to weed out the people leaving false feedback for their friends or bad feedback for someone they just don't like.

Also not to make more work for the mods but there would need to be some oversite for people to protest having negative feedback that is either abusive or just plain not true to have it removed when justified as well as mutiple feedbacks being left for the same things.

I hope some of you will throw in some constructive ideas on how to get this up and running again

Okay Im not sure if this is the proper place but it has to do with the feedback system. I just noticed I have one bad feedback, no big deal I know, but.. it kinda got to me. Ill explain quickly, a couple a weeks ago when GWG was having a bit of ruff patch I closed three auctions I had running, two of the three had bids, and the items went to the bidders, the third item did not have any bids, so no worries, I thought. Okay well two days later a person contacts me to get his staff, Im like what staff?, 'The Illyanas staff that was up for auction at GWG' says he, and Im like, 'wtf I just gave it away last night to some lucky mesmer, so sorry bud I dont got the staff', well I could tell just fron the guys PM's he was pissed, I quickly explained the auction had been closed three days prior and the mistake was GWG's not mine. I then logged out of GW's and checked the auctions,and sure as shit theres the Illyanas staff, it had run thru again , and had this guys bid on it, so, I sent him another PM trying to explain, and apologising for the mixup all the same. Now thing is I check my feedback today, and theres a feedback from this joker saying I sold the item or some such crap, and I couldnt explain myself to his satisfaction, whatever, Ive got sixteeen other good feedbacks, and one negative.
But now to the point, why was he able to leave feedback at all, I couldnt leave it for him, as I hadnt closed a deal with him, so how in the world was he allowed to neg feedback me ? If someone feedbacks me, should I not have the right to feedback him ? As it is I could low ball bids on items and when the seller refuses to sell it for the ridiculous low price, I could neg feedback him, no ? Is this how it is supposed to work, whoever bids on an item can leave feedback for the seller ? Thanks and apologies for wandering off topic a bit.
