whenever i start up GW, it has the little "connecting to arenanet" box, it used to go from 0% to 100% right away, now it waits about 10 seconds, then connects. also, whenever i switch zones, it does the same thing, it stays at "connecting 0%" for about 10 seconds, then go to 100%, unlike before where it instantly went to 100%. it started happening after i re installed GW, i might try a re install, but i was hoping i could try to get some fixes before i re install, since re installing takes so long, and is a bitch to download everything in each zone again.
thanks

EDIT: i re installed, nothing changed i really wish i could fix this, annoying as hell in PvP!

It is my belief that with every update GW has gone down in performance since the original release. This sucks majorly, as I use to be able to use my computer and it ran smooth until the updates. See the thread about the memory and you see that I lag heaps when the screen gets filled up. Before it never use to.

Do you have DirectSong installed (any of the music paks)?

If you do get the most current version of WMP for your OS -
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...a/default.mspx

Then get the following patch: http://www.support.microsoft.com/kb/891122/
(have to choose what version you have here too)

Someone found that if you have DirectSong and are NOT using Windows Media Player 10 on Windows XP there is a "delay" before zoning in. It has to "check" to see if you have the right to play the audio file (license) before it can play it.
