Graggult's Keep in the Shiverpeaks
anti_z3r0
So, my guildies and I were escorting some people through the Shiverpeaks tonight, and I noticed something very weird. I saw a sign to an area that I've never heard of before (I've done the betas and am familiar with all of the beta content, so pretty much everything in the Shiverpeaks I know about except for Lornar's Pass and below that) it was called Graggult's Keep.
I decided to worry about it later and finish up the trek that we were on. Later on tonight, I decided to go back out, and investigate some more. I ran back to where the sign was, and started thinking
What exactly did this sign point to? Where the heck is Graggult's Keep, and WHAT the heck is Graggult's Keep? The sign seemed to point towards the Eastern direction. I explored everywhere through that area, and none of the zone names had changed, nor had any new zone been added. Here is the SS of the whole area explored fully, so you guys know that I checked everything.
I also asked around in a few districts of random towns, and got no answer. So this lead me to conclude a few things as possibilities for an answer.
1. This Graggult's Keep is one of the two new EAs they will be adding in a few days here.
2. This Graggult's Keep is a new EA or outpost that they intend to add later.
3. This is an error.
4. They are going to be changing the name of Beacon's Perch to Graggult's Keep
5. Graggult's Keep is the rumoured "Cradle of Secrets" that has been briefly mentioned by the devs in past interviews.
I'm hoping for number 5, but I think it is just number 3. Please, if anyone finds anything out, or has any ideas, post them! I'd like to get to the bottom of this :-)

Might be just the sort of temple like area where Grenth is found? I'm not sure how far south of Beacon you were. Grenth's area can be found in south Lornar's near the border to Dreadnaught's Drift.
anti_z3r0
This was in the Northern Shiverpeaks. Above Beacon's Perch.

I just found it too and came to the forum to see if anybody knew anything... pretty strange.

I've concluded that until further evidence is found, Graggult's Keep is the Shiverpeak's Ninja hangout, which would explain why we cannot find it. It is probably invisible or hiding in some sort of shadow.
Khrysyl
Or maybe........ *with a sound of wonder in her voice* maybe Gwen is there!

Well we are getting another big update soon, in a few months. Its focused on the Shiverpeak area. So thats probably the name of a place that will some with the update.

I have found the secret. Graggult's Keep is actually a secret underground hideout. Pleast dont release this information, it is very secret. First you have to reach the sign and send to the direct left of it.Here are the steps to get in
1. First type /dance and your character will start to dance
2. After about 10 seconds of dancing, underground gnomes will spawn
3. The gnomes will carry you off into the keep
4. [step four is undecided]
5. Profit

Mariena Feladon
Underground gnomes that will shout 'Ni', right?
Good find, this is actually quite interesting. Reminds me of exploring the 'galaxy' in Freelancer: "How did this wreck get here?" .. "What HAPPENED here?" .. "How did they ever create such a world?" .. etc. And sadly, I will never find the answers. I will never know what happened to the sleeper ship that was lost en-route ... *cry*.
Yeah, I'm drifting off.

Clearly.
..It was an error in the main computer's guidance system, as I remember. That was a great game. Wish I still had the CD. =/

If memory serves me correctly, on that map there is an area with a dwarven village that has been overrun by Centaurs (or it is not too far from there.) The signpost is most likely the name for that village, much like there are signposts leading to the "Ascalon Settlement" in the North Kryta Province. While the new areas are being added in the Shiverpeaks - they will be in the Southern Shiverpeaks, level 20 kind of stuff. It wouldn't make much sense for them to make a fuss over epic new content and have it be in the Northern area (level 10 ~ 12) where most players would only breeze through it.
Jackal Mikeson
but the sign is pointing the wrong way. Plus theres no keep in the settlement
Ketendra
The names of the new areas are Sorrow's Furnace and Grenth's Footprints - so cant tell ya what this place is.
Midnight Scorpion
who's to say that this keep isnt the entry to sorrows furnace and grenths footprints? like a stopover town like copperhammer mines

The Cradle of Secrets has been briefly mentioned by some devs in interviews, and sparked huge rumors among many fans. It is supposedly a place for epic drops and awesome monsters, and said to be located somewhere in the Shiverpeaks.

I'm afraid there's no mystery, it's just an area, if you look at the signpost closely, Greggaults Keep is a banner, this is Graggults Keep:

Starting search party for said 'Cradle of Secrets'! We'll meet in about a year or so upon the next full moon and after the Underground Gnomes have made themselves known.
Or well known to the general public. They've already addressed me and discussed my next course of action with me. They've shared in their great wisdom and told me that one day I would find a message on a forum discussing a great and secret area and a year (or so) from that day I would meet with a heroic band of other players under a full moon and through much trial we'd come upon the fabled land and rejoice in it's many wonders.
And today is that day.

I found that banner too and wondered for some time what it was all about. But if you look at that area just around it, there are several structures (high wooden walls, huge gates, forts, bridges, small houses) that makes you think of a settlement/town/"keep" so I'm thinking it was just a way for the devs to let us know that this used to be some kind of dwarven town and somehow it's been overrun by the Shiverpeak centaurs.

It's a super secret area. You must first reach the signpost, and then you have to drop a tapestry shred on a charr hide and then type "/wirt's leg". After this is done, you are transfered to a huge field of Aataxes...
...really...
...really...

Cradle of Secrets? I read the link, but it really doesn't give much info about what was said in the interview or what it is or anything...

Yeah, I guess him bumping it is much better than someone feeling inclined to flame him for not using the search function.
