I bid on a staff in the auction with 10 mins left; no reserve, no buy now. I outbid buyer X for the item.
After 10 mins I'm the winning bid but a refresh shows the auction has another 10 mins left and X now has the winning bid again.
I wait till the last minute and put in another winning bid. I refresh and ... the auction has another 10 mins to go and X has put in the winning bid again!!
I suspect this could go on forever until X is the winner - has he hacked the auction or what??
What's going on here?? I can post the auction number if you wish.
Auction: What is going on here?

It's likely anti sniping code. To prevent things just like what you are attempting to do.

yep new update makes any new bids make the auction last 10 min longer if its within the last 15 min or so of ending

Ah right - cheers for that. I've always thought sniping was a legitimate auction technique. Obviously GWG don't think so which is fair enough.
I note from the update: "If a user submits a bid during the last 5 minutes of an auction, this auction will automatically be extended by 10 minutes in order to provide other bidders with an opportunity to counter any "last second bids"."
However, how do you bid on something that you spot in the 'closing soon' category (which is where I spotted the staff) - my snipe was not intentional in this case, I simply saw it in that section. So the auction simply carries on until ppl stop bidding?
