OK This is complicated but stick with me. I own the regular retail copy of GW, I have a lvl 11 char, and do not wish to lose him.

My friend wants to buy the game now too. I want the Collector's Edition, with all the goodies. Now to my understanding the CE, comes with the retail cd key, and than a preorder cd key for the items. I am going to pay for half the cost of the CE, and give my buddy the headset and Retail Game. So I can keep the soundtrack, and art book and unique item cd key.

Now what I want to know is, can I do this? Will attaching the unique cd key addon to my current retail account, give my lvl 11 char the unique items and Amulet?? Or do I need to use the game key from the CE? and lose my character to start over again?

All i want is to keep my character, give my buddy his own game, but i keep the amulet and items for my character.

When you buy the CE, there is one registration key inside, only one. That key is tied to the divine aura, which is not an item. It is basically a cool magic like effect when you do emotes. That's it. There is no CE in game item.

The pre-order keys are a seperate issue entirely. They were (are) included in the pre-order box only. The pre-order box was(is) available from many retailers before GW was released. It contained a registration code that gave access to the Beta Weekend Events, and was tied to a special in game item that was specific to the store you bought it from (or region in some cases).

SO, if you want an in-game item, get a pre-order box, but the pre-order items are mostly not maxed items, so it might not be worth it. Plus if you are doing that, look into which item is given where you are going to buy it, so that you get what you want.

If you pay half, and don't take the headset, you will be paying for the artbook, CD, and 3 month teamspeak server. That's it.

I have noticed that the bow given out with pre-orders from EB Games will last anybody atleast till they are lvl 16 or 17. It is a surprisingly good bow, and it angers me that I never took the time to get it from EB.

OK so anyone else know about the other items, like i know which ones come from what retailers, but if the bow is that good, how about, like the shield from Best Buy, how good is that?

I have the shield but have not used it yet...never have been fond of melee combat.
