I really have no problems with the last update...except for the nerf on the Dread's chests, it was just so much fun to do once in a while!! I really don't understand this change---unless there is something I am missing, please feel free to enlighten me, I believe the chances of getting something good was incredibly low, but just that excitement in not knowing was really, really fun. I never did alot of the chest run, but about 3 weeks ago I went up there and first time opening the lost strongbox I got a rare crystalline sword---what an awesome feeling that was, I customized it for my warrior. So, my question is, was it really being abused in a way that negatively affected the game? I can't imagine how bots could have benefited from these chests, and from what I understand, many people try a few times and then often give up anyways?? I even enjoyed going with full groups to cap from Maw Mountainheart and then opening the chests as kind of like our reward for hiking way up there...anyways, too bad, it really was alot of fun to do when I had an extra hour to kill

I got a sweet item, only item I got that was good in my ten months of playing...I loved the chest, why did they take it out? (rare dwarven axe)

Because being able to get something so good and rare as a rare crystaline sword with such ease did not please Anet. I understand it.

I got a couple of purp crystalls from it, took a while but it felt good getting them, it did need removing as crystalline swords were popping up all over the place but i agree with apoc, it did have a magical quality.

I don't agree that it was easy to get---like I said, they dropped very, very rarely from there, it was the only one I have ever had drop in all the time I have been playing GW, way too many hours to even think about, I feel like I deserved it. If you are refering to only winning in HoH as being worthy of a crystalline sword, then I definately disagree, should it have rewards---absolutely, and so should exploring every nook and crany of Tyria. Magical is the perfect way to describe the feeling of getting those oh so rare skinned weapons. Grats on the dwarven---my warrior wants one so badly

Oh, and I really don't see how botting would have been worth while up there, but then again, maybe there were bots running it 24/7---if that was the case then I agree with Anet 100%---but then how about having those rare skinned weapons drop very rarely from some remote, difficult to kill boss??

We'll you know..I didn't really react much to the griffon farming "nerf" as instant as I did when I heard that they took out dread chests. But then again, I guess it was sort of an exploit (sort of) since keys are now used to open chests. So I guess it was to be expected.

Griffons' farming nerf was expected. Chests weren't AS publicized. :P

i loved those chests, and it was really the only farm runs i did, botting wasnt the cause for this because it had to be way to complex for a bot to run through snake dance.
