They have always been lazy. that's why the nerf something, instead of reading what WE think should happen to that skill.

What seems to be the problem here?
Lasareth
Love triangle? Maybe an old issue of As Ascalon Turns?
Lord Iowerth
Haha, nice! I never noticed that one ... Paulus hasn't even been dead that long, and Melka's after Gurn ...

Durring the FT. Rannik mission you meet a Gurn Blanston , he wants you to take a message to his wife. He has been on patrol a long time and wants you to tell her that he still loves her.
Maybe Melka is his sister, but then again, maybe Paulus has been keeping her warm at night. He never did know when to stay out.

(Should have added a tongue-in-cheek emote when I first posted.)

Melka had something going on the side....
Ultimate_Gaara
.... Wait, wait, wait... who is Gurn?
Is it just me or did Paulus turn into Gurn somewhere in this quest description.

Murder In China
Hmm interesting...when did Anet change THAT?
Symeon
I noticed that before, I just thought that 1) It was too tiny a fault to mention on the forum, and 2) It was a good joke and it didn't need to be fixed
Skuld
i've /bug'd that on every frickin character -_-
The Mighty Toe
It looks like 2 quest descriptions from 'Take a message to my wife' and 'In memory of Paulus' have been fused together. Oh well...

Is it just me or did Paulus turn into Gurn somewhere in this quest description. Paulus is a monk that studies poisons, he is a quest in pre-sear and post sear, in post you find him poisoned to death.
Gurn is an Ascalon soldier that has been on patrol for a while, and hasn't been in contact with his wife in a while, and wants you to get her a message.
Like I said Paulus never did know when to stay out of places where he did not belong.

I did not notice that, bleh, good eye! As said before, Melka seems to be the town bicycle, if you catch my drift...i bet stefan has had her, he's a true playah
Murder In China
Stefan must be hitting it up yo.
arcanemacabre
The quest is to take an item that Paulus apparently had in life to Melka.... I'm thinking that maybe it's saying that Paulus had no family or friends, aside from Melka, so you're to take his posessions/holy symbol to the only real friend he had in life...
though a love triangle is much more interesting

ROFLMAO.... not quite.
By 'love triangle' I beleive that they meant Paulus was Melka's "Backdoor Man" (please don't misinterpret that one as well) AKA "the guy who was 'keeping her company' while her husband was away." In situations like these, it's usually considered a high priority to prevent said husband from even knowing of the existance of said guy.
Though, I must say that your version of events makes things even more interesting in Ascalon...
By the way, I noticed this the first time I ran through the game as well. At first I figured the Dev's had thought it might seem harmless since chivalrous relationships (non-sexual) were common in the time period in which GW is (kind of) set and, on top of that, Paulus was a monk. Of course, it's apparent now that most players minds, including mine, didn't view it like that.

No I think a sizable proportion of the "mature" GW population didn't take it in the harmless way that I suppose it was intended.

Someone on Anet just got bored and decided lets give Guild Wars a hor He probably wasnt getting payed enough so he figured wth ill mess with the game a bit. Just enough for only really critical people to notice.
Soldier of Sacrifice

Essence Bond. I think it trumps every other monk spell in its capacity for innuendo.
Rathcail
Well at least the triangle is (somewhat) explained after you complete the Paulus quest.
kimahri
So she admits it! I guess she'll have to start dating Captain Grywind now...
Cirian
"Scandal in Ascalon" - I'm going to put my parchment to good use and start a gossip mag!
