questions on what i should pick

I played the beta this weekend and i was wondering what yall think i should pick. I started out as an elementist and monk but was thinking if i should just be an elementist and a mesmer but which one should be my primary one or is this a good idea just looking for some help the game look NICE let me know what you think

spend some time in green askalon and try different combos

i thought i wanted to be w/? but sucked big time

i did well as ele/mes

i am now ranger/monk and that is probably what i want

find out what is the most FUN for you that you dont get killed super easy with

it is a game that is very well balanced and there is not a super secret uber build

try thing and have something that you LIKE instead of something somebody tells you is better because everybody has different tastes

Questions like these confuse me.. it's all basically what -you- want to be. No one else can answer this for you. No one can even come close without knowing what exact purpose you want the character for.

If it's just for fun/roleplaying, then pick whatever you want.

If it's for PvP, what type of role do you want to do with it? The key is to specialize. Spreading yourself out only results in a mediocre character with nothing too good to say for it. GW PvP doesn't encourage jack-of-all-trades characters.

Look to your past if you have any experience with other D&D type derivatives (Yes I said it, they all come from D&D which comes from Tolkien's LoTR, which comes from Real Life in the middle ages Right? Right??? they covered it in Social 30??)
Pick you character based on your preferred play style, I love casters and rangers, (range, subterfuge, confusion, hit n' run) so I play more casters or light assault characters. I don't like the running up and smacking things down, and can't play those types well (again, thats just me)

im a warrior/monk right now becuase i had the idea in my head that i could get some protective prayers and stuff on me and then just run in and kill stuff and so far i like it


but i think when the game releases im gunna go ranger/necro
