Class name: Medium / Shaman / Phantasmist
Weapons: Have wands and staff and off hand item that ties with their attribute.
Energy: Similar to that of Necromancer or Rituralist. Also use up SP
Armor: Caster Armor, so low AL (about 50-60 range). There are also Armor sets that give extra SP (soul power, see below).
For the look, I think it would be fitting to have it more Ancient Egyptian themed.

Premise: this class increase your fighting ablity on battle field two fold. With the ability of control one’s own spirit/soul, you can now even continue to fight on, even when you are dead! The versatile of Medium’s skill allow them to do much when they are in spirit mode, from DoP, damaging, energying drain, interruption, healing, and even processing. Also many of those skill use SP as alterative resources, allowing you to conserve your energy for other use. Also you can call down powerful Avatars that give yourself a great boost. Alternatively, Medium also have skills that protect themselves and other against other Mediums as well. This will be one class that is not afraid to die.
Attributes:
Soul Mastery (primary): For ever rank in the attribute, you gain X extra SP. Also skills that allow you exist longer in spirit modes.
Medium Mastery: Skills that increase better use of spirit modes.
Possessing Mastery: Skills that allow you to Possess other while in spirit mode. Also be able to call down Spirit of Avatar on your self.
Phantasm Mastery: Skills that allow you to do damages in, or out, of spirit mode. Also skills that damage enemies SP.
Notes:
Spirit Mode: One of the biggest uniqueness of this class. You enter the sprit mode by skill (like Mediating) or Dying. (you can only go into it when you have Medium as primary or 2ndary). Medium offers a lot of skill that can only be use while you are in the sprit mode. When you become a spirit, you no longer have HP or Energy, and all is combine into a bar call SP (soul power). As you stay in spirit, you will automatically suffer a degen to your SP (like that of Minons). As a spirit, you can not take physical or elemental damages, but enemy spirit, Dark, Holy, Chaos, and Energy Drain will have damaging factor to your SP (but is damage will be modify with some weights, so it is not one-to-one). Unless use skills, your attack does zero damage while in spirit mode. You will return to your body when 1) you are near you body and is not dead, will have a button to return to your body 2) when your SP runs out and 3) be force out skills. You are free to move around in Spirit Mode. (for visual, when you are in the spirit mode, you would see world as darker blue, but with character light up, much like a night vision goggles)
SP (Soul Power): SP is a combination of Health and Energy when you are in the sprit mode. It is in an extra bar. Skills and points in primary attribute will increase your SP. Lots Medium’s skills, be it in or out of spirit mode, will use up your SP. Also you will suffer a degen on your SP when you enter into Sprite Mode, and regen when you are in your body (if you are alive). When your SP runs out, you will be force to return back to your body (alive or dead). And if you are rez when your SP is zero, your Health and Energy will be halved for 30 seconds. NOTE: For example here, will set the SP to be 100 at minimal.
Possession:You can Possess target or ally when you are in spirit mode by skills for different effects. Once you Possess a target, you will atomically “tie” to that target. (where they move, they carry you with them). You can only do one type of Possession at one time, but can still use other spirit skills.
Avatar Possessing: You are able to call down Avatar’s of different gods and spirit on to your self. When you possess your self this way, you gain great boost, but all your skills are disable for the duration. It also removes any enchantment on you. Also that only one Avatar of one type can only exist on the same map (so if someone call down Avatar of Dwayna before you, than you are out of luck). Having an Avatar Possessing you will make your SP have a degen of X. The Avatar will be remove when the duration runs up, when your SP goes to zero, or by skills.

Powering Soul:
5 | 1c | 30r : If you goes into the spirit mode in the next 5 seconds, you increase your SP by X in T duration.
Medium Mastery:
Mediate:
5E | 3c | 10r : Goes into the spirit mode. You will be pull back to your body automatically if your body’s HP damage suffer up to 50%.
Quicken Mediate:
5E | 1c | 10r : Goes into the spirit mode faster, but your body will decrease AL by X. You will be pull back to your body automatically if your body’s HP damage suffer up to 50%.
Restful Mediate:
15E | 4c | 20r : Goes into the spirit mode, and your body will have a +X HP regen. You will be pull back to your body automatically if your body’s HP damage suffer up to 50%.
Born Again*:
15SP | 3c | 30r : Allow to rez your self with half of Health and half energy, but suffer 5% extra DP.
Fading Sprit*:
15SP | 3c | 30r : While in spirit mode, you become invisible to all foe for T seconds.
Windborn Spirit*:
8SP | 1c | 30r : While in spirit mode, you move faster by 50% for T seconds.
Returning Soul*:
5SP | 1c | 30r : While in sprit mode, Instantly teleport you back to your body.
Body Pull*:
30SP | 3c | 30r : Instantly teleport your body to your spirits current location.
Forceful Return*:
25SP | 3c | 30r : Can be use when in or out of sprit mode. Target a foe’s spirit and force it to return to the location of its own body. Will also de-possess.
Shield from Possession:
15E | 2c | 45r : Protect Ally from being Possess by enemy spirit for T seconds.
Banish Possession:
10E | 1c | 30r : De-possess an ally or foe of any possession they have.
Anti-Possession Ward:
10E | 1c | 30r : Create a Ward that make any possession’s duration shorten by 50%, and ally inside can not be possessed. Last for T seconds.
Unyielding Grasp:
20SP | 2c | 30r : Can be use when in or out of sprit mode. In T duration, your sprit or avatar can not be de-possess.
Possessing Mastery:
Forceful Possession*:
25SP | 2c | 30r : Possess an foe’s body for 3…6 seconds. You take control of his action in duration.
Grieving Burden*:
20SP | 2c | 30r : Possess a foe for T seconds. In duration, target will suffer –X HP degen.
Weighing Burden*:
20SP | 2c | 30r : Possess a foe for T seconds. In duration, target will suffer Cripple and reduce attack speed by 25%.
Healing Possession*:
20SP | 2c | 30r : Possess an ally for T seconds. In duration, target will have extra +X HP regen.
Avatar of Balthazar:
20E | 4c | 45r : Call on an Avatar of Balthazar to possess on to your self. In duration T, you attack 33% faster, and gain extra +X fire attack and +X AL. Drains X SP a second.
Avatar of Dwayna:
20E | 4c | 45r : Call on a Avatar of Dwayna to possess on to your self. In duration T, you gain +X HP regen, all ally next to you are heal X HP every second. Drains X SP a second.
Steal Avatar:
10E | 2c | 30r : Target a foe that is possessed by Avatar, and steal it.
Phantasm Mastery:
Physical Materialize*:
10SP | 2c | 30r : In T duration, your spirit can deal X physical melee damage to your attack, but you can be harm by physical damages as well.
Ethereal Harm*:
10SP | 2c | 30r : In T duration, when attack, your sprit will drain enemies Energy at 1…3 per strike. In duration, you take extra damage by Chaos, Dark, and Holy attacks.
Darken Soul*:
10SP | 2c | 30r : Can be use when in or out of sprit mode. In duration T, you deal +X extra Dark damage and gain XAL against Dark damage, but reduce AL against Holy damages.
Meddling Spirit*:
15SP | 2c | 45r : In T duration, your in the spirit mode does no damage, but interrupt target with your strikes.
Soul Strike*:
10SP | 2c | 30r : Can be use when in or out of sprit mode. Damage target at range with X damage and drain their Energy by X.
Materializing Strike*:
5SP | 1c | 0r : Can be use when in or out of sprit mode. Damage target at melee with X physical damage.
Soul Eater*:
10SP | 1c | 30r : Can be use when in or out of sprit mode. Damage target (or target sprit)’s SP by X, and gain Y SP your self.
Soul Drain*:
10SP | 2c | 30r : Can be use when in or out of sprit mode. Add X SP degen to target.
Body-Soul Conversion*:
20SP | 2c | 30r : Can be use when in or out of sprit mode. Convert the SP lost of Target into Health Damage.
Balancing Issues:
While on the first look, it could look like an overpowering class of Jack of all Trades, however, I think it is fairly balance. Keep in mind that lots of spirit skills can only be use in spirit modes, thus one need to carefully balance what skill to carry in your 8 slots. Also while SP is a good use for substituting energy, if you don’t manage well, and run out, if you die with 0 SP, you would suffer a big drawback. Also there are several powerful counter skills to SP and spirit mode.
I think most class can benefit from taking it as a primary or 2ndary. While you might be a bit less efficient in dealing “mortal” damages, the ability to continue playing and doing damage when you are dead will even it out.
Design Note: I won’t claim originality over this class. While novel in concept, this was written with heavy influences from other’s post of similar class with Avatars and Leaving Body Spirit Mode (but I do add more details, and added the after-death thing).
