Hello.

This thread is in two questions.

1: What happens as pets gain levels?

2: Do pets ever grow in size, like grow bigger? If so, how? And what are the differences?

Thanks.

Regards, Ashleigh.

How do wolfs turn into " elder wolfs" then?

I was told that at level 17 or something, they transform into a bigger form.

can anyone correct/ confirm this please?

Regards, Ashleigh.

Hmm.

In the old BWE's, i made a W/R pvp character.

The " Elder Wolf" looked bigger than the " normal wolfs" in pre-searing.

this may be the case however you are unable to capture the wolfs in pre-searing as they have some kind of charm-break skill.

i know if you use a thunderstone on a elder wolf it will evolve into zapawolf.

trust me when i say pets do NOT grow in anyway.

edit: looks like i may be wrong here, i cannot confirm as i am quite happy with my spider. please send picts.

Is it at all possible to tame wolfs in pre-searing? Perhaps if I had a knockdown warrior to help?

Also, are all pets balanced in a way? Like no pets are better than other pets?

Regards, Ashleigh.

Dude, you are so wrong. I have a Snow Wolf, and it is noticeably bigger than it was when I acquired it. I have one pic right now that shows his size compared to me - tonight I will attempt to get a pic of him next to a normal snow wolf, so you can see - he's like almost twice as big as he was when I got him.

Im not sure how that would work.. donno if you can get knockdowns in pre.

pets are good at diff. things (correct me if im wrong)

stalker/wolf = damage
pig = decent tank and DD
bear = tank
lizard = speed attacks
spider = pois.

What would you put a Strider on that list as? ( bird).

Well, I got it around Yak's Bend, I don't recall what level I was, I think the wolf was 2 or 5 - whatever the wolves are in that area.
He slowly grew over time and levels - at first it is hard to notice, but once I got him up around 17th or 18th level I realized he was huuuuge. I thought maybe I was mistaken, so I took him back to Yak's Bend to compare - and like I said, those wild wolves there are puny compared to him.
Also noticed it with the bear - my buddy got a bear like last weekend, and at first my wolf was bigger than the bear. The bear has caught up and now I think it is bigger than the wolf.

I hear the warthog is a good tank. I know in PvP the hog has an advantage, being quite a bit smaller than the other animals.

I got a stalker when she was level 5, she's now level 19, she's almost twice as big as when I got her. One of my guild mates has a strider that gotten huge! It seems the pets do get bigger the higher the level, it doesn't happen all at once but slowly, in fact it took a while to register that they had gotten bigger.

i cannot confirm this about the bear.. as i found him to be fat, slow, and useless.. as far as the wolf i had one from level 5 to 15 and noticed no change in size.

edit: if these pets do indeed grow please try and send me a pict. compare to a normal size animal leventh[at]L2unforgiven[dot]com.

p.s. wanna buy some thunderstones?

Yes, animals gain health and grow. I haven't finished testing yet, but melandru's stalker at least seems to have health exactly the same as a character of that level (80+20*level). My wolf (from pre searing) is only level 12 but it's already looking pretty big, hopefully it'll get as big as that one in the photo... I'll hopefully get a chance to try all animals and figure out their damage and AL. Stalkers seem to have a 2 second attack period, though it's hard to tell if it's exactly 2, might be a bit less.

And I had no issues catching a pre-searing wolf. Bears though, I have yet to catch.

That's the thing, it's hard to notice. For me it was probably a bit easier to notice because my toon is a midget, and soon the wolf's shoulder was above my head LOL.

You can easily tame wolves in pre-searing just outside the Abbey no different than getting a stalker. One problem, you will have to give the wolf up post-searing if you want the Hunter's Shot skill...

Pet's get noticibly larger when they increase in level, a guildmate has a moa bird and the thing is huge...
