New IGN Article - March 6th, 2006

I really don't like the warrior armor. You'd think the stereotype heavy armor profession would be easiest to make awesome looking armor for, but you'd be mistaken if you had to go by Guildwars. I'm afraid in their attempt to make it look unique they've made it look too unfamiliar. If I didn't know any better I'd say it looks like something a ritualist would use.

What it suggest to me is that:

Each group will have a different type/method of attack, so more styles/types of armor will be available. Some may protect against status attacks, other may proctect against pysical attacks. Which adds a new wrinkle, which side has the better looking armor.

That ranger armor is SWEEEEET!!!!!!!

As a whole I view the new warrior armor to be the ugliest piece of crap ive ever seen. The only thing that I would get from that set is the gauntlets to go with my 15k dragon armor. Best part of the entire suit if you ask me.

Really, just because we are meat sheilds doesn't mean our armor has to suck.



What i would like to see is a Warrior set of armor that looks good and doesn't make male warriors look like a couch potatoe with a beer belly.

sorry to say but the warrior helm looks alot like an alien take a look at movie independents day .

SC2 or Tekken?

I am still wondering if that warrior's eye is new face or it was the helm...

I guess a large guild need to switch side to satisfy their member in armors.

The Mesmer and Necromancer have the best looking I really don't the rest.

Oh dear, maybe by the next chapter the Warrior will finally get some half-decent armour. And lose the beer belly.

I like the warrior helmet. The whole warrior armor is like a mash up between chinese style dragon armor and a japanese style monk helmet. Very intimidating. I mean cmon, the whole point in war is to intimidate the enemy. Wouldn't you be freaked out if you saw something as unnatural as that comin at you?

Warrior armor in close view looks like it was made from drakes or some other scaled creature.

Like everyone else I too seem to like the warrior armor, heck the only warrior armor I like now is 15k Glads with ascalon helm or full droks platemail

I agree, In GW: Prophecies with my Monk I try and interchange tattoo's and cloth to get that "I'm tatto'd and wear clothes" feel. And now they're marking armor that potrays just that, Sweet!

And I think you guys are bashing the warrior armor a bit too much, with out the helmet it'd look a better. And after all lets not forget the "Dark Lord" armor that by far all warriors will have.

Honestly, none of the full sets look good except the necro and mesmer. I can forsee some nice-looking combos though (monk chest with aesetic, ele gloves w/ anything) and I really can't see that warrior helmet doing too well in game...

Shame the mesmer armor pic isn't of a male. I want to see male mesmer canthan armor. T_T

That Female Ranger armor wins. But bah, I'm a male Ranger. -_-; Hmm, the male version will probably look like the one shown in this screenshot, since you can see him wearing what looks to be Turtles shells.

i think i'll be sticking with my 15k if thats the best.the other warrior armor that has been shown may get a place in my wardrobe as a spare and that nec set looks very familiar for some reason hmm.also as i have said on another thread with the real ss's of the pre-order items,they look crap when compared to all the asian pre-orders.and that staff is just concept which is a shame cos it still looks a bit naf but is much better looking than what they went with.not sure if the dagger is same as the concept cos it was a small pic and couldn't see the detail very well.also don't worry about the mods the op in the other thread assured us that they were upgradable.

That face inside the Warrior helmet is scaring me >_<
