Mantra of Recall and Signet of Humility

I was playing around as a monk in Random Arena, while using Mantra of Recall to manage energy. We played a team with a Surge/Burn Mesmer using Signet of Humility. Since my team decided a W/Mo was a greater theat than the Mesmer, he was able to use Signet of Humility several times. I noticed something odd though. When Signet of Humility hit me with Mantra already on as an enchant, it seemed like it was pulled off without granting me energy. Since I was focusing on healing my team, I was not able to check if anyone had any enchantment removal. Has anyone else experienced this, or is enchantment stripping and e-denial making me see things?

Hmmmm when it ends...it should give you energy.

I was using mantra of recall for GvG on Sunday. I received energy when my enchant was stripped. I believe signet of humility simply prevents you from executing an elite. Perhaps your enchant was removed simultaneously with getting hit with energy surge/burn causing you not to notice the energy change?
