I have done several characters to level 20, but only stuck with my R/Me and my Me/(N or E or Mo)..
I am contemplating starting a new warrior -- either W/Me or W/R...
If I go W/R -- is it your opinion (assuming I want to melee) that the ability to add runes to the warrior abilities and absorption would make enough difference to warrant the grind of leveling a new toon over just doing some stuff with my R/Me to make him a R/W?
Thanks for the opinions... keep it friendly.

The primary professions each play differently so there is some advantage to playing one of each, but a ranger/warrior can be an effective and fun melee toon.
If you're thinking of a casual warrior then using your ranger sounds fine to me, but if you want to do a lot of tanking warrior would be best.
Ultimately, you have to choose.

My Warrior went through the game with a ranger secondary because during creation it seemed like a great match. As I progressed I used my ranger skills less and less till they were gone from my bar pretty much never to return. I switched him to /Me after I ascended and after getting past the learning curve of a new class I love it! Unless I really need a skill in a different secondary I always keep my mesmer 2ndary.

If you want to get your tanking fix you can use frostbound armor, a -2 stance/-3 hexed shield and go pound some ice imps into the ground with your fiery sword. I made a good 500k farming IDS swords this way.
(not saying that this is by ANY means the best way to do it! )
If you like that a lot, a warrior would be worth while for you. Personally I like /Me or /E better.
