A guild freind has pointed this site out to me it seems most useful, thought I would join the forum...
Been level 20 monk/me for a while now, and our guild is just getting into some pvp, I am the only monk (for now) and am flying solo for ideas, any imput would be useful.
The Story so far...
healing prayers 11+1
protection 6
divine favour 12
skills
orisons healing
word of healing
signet of devotion
healing touch
mend ailment
reversal of fortune
divine boon
resurection
So i guess i'm trying to use quick heals that do heal quite a bit due to divine boon, also when removing ailments from myself and other i'm doing quite a bit of healing also, I left out remove hex because the reset timer was a bit longer (maybe a stupid idea i'm not sure), hopefully a fellow monk can handle the hex department.
Signet of devotion i'm unsure of I like the fact i can save some energy while casting this, but it does take a while to cast... maybe too long.
Healing touch and reversal of fortune is handy when I'm getting chased down , not sure if that is the best method either, reversal of fortune also seems to help nicely with keeping others alive anyway.
It would be nice to know if anyone has a suggestion or two.. cheers.
pvp monk, any suggestion would be welcomed

Seems like a great build..some comments though.
Maybe consider
10 healing prayers instead, so you can have 10 protection as well?
Also, you pretty much aren't taking any advantage of a secondary class...Well feels weird to me, but I guess i will drop inspiration (mesmer secondary class here) and try out pure monk attributes..

Signet of Devotion can be nice. It costs no energy and it doesn't trigger backfire. The problem is that it also doesn't trigger divine boon's or divine favor's healing bonuses. This could be a good slot for Remove Hex, as you can remove backfire from yourself and teammates. If not, then maybe Heal other could go here.
Word of Healing is a great spell, but it uses up your elite. You are going to need some sort of enegy boost to keep up because divine boon is quite an energy drain. Peace and Harmony and Offering of Blood are the popular choices.
As a monk, I never find the time to cast a res spell unless the other team is practically defeated anyway. Someone is always in need of a heal. I use the Res Signet because it has a 3 second cast time and brings someone back with full health. It can't be used as much as a spell, but like I said, I never have time to go through the long casting times for the spells. One use is better than none.
You'll probably want at least one big heal. You lose Word of Healing in order to get a mana boost, but Heal Other can do a reasonable job of taking its place. Use this if someone is getting very low and bring them back to nearly full.
Due to the fact that a monk rarely has time to res, an organized team might cover that with other classes. You might have a slot for an extra heal in place of res.

Thanks, i've been meaning to look into peace and harmony, but i wasn't sure if it was worth it.... didn't quite understand what it was doing, I guess i should try capture it..

Yep, first things first... IF you are spending time rezzing as a monk, your team is probably losing badly anyway. Leave the rezzing to monk secondaries (especially good are the W/Mo's since they can withstand a nasty assult and still have enough time to just stand there and rez). Not like it's hard to find one .
Also, protection at 6 is probably not worth enough to take even one protection skill with you... especially not that one (I am partial, but I HATE reversal of fortune, lol... always seems to get triggered when the least amount of damage is dealt ). IF you want to use protection spells... get protection to 10 at least (drop divine to 11) and try pretty much any other protect spell. Just my opinion fo course.

I'd convince others in your guild to get monks ready very soon if you plan on doing PvP as a guild. 1 Monk just doesn't cut it in tombs or GvG.
Other than that Healing Breeze and Heal Other might be spells you could use. Both would benefit from greatly from Divine boon, but both coast 10 energy. You could put your protection points into Inspiration and use Channeling to keep your energy up.

thanks alot for your suggestions I will play around with some more different setups, most helpful.

Honestly, I don't think reversal of fortune is all that good... I would rather cast Healing Seed over reversal of fortune only because it severely reduces the damage your allies take for about 18 seconds while reversal of fortune is only a 1 shot wonder and then its over.

Ally Healing
Word of Healing
Healing Seed
Heal Other
*Pick 2
Self Healing (Trust me, you'll need to do this ALOT)
Orison of Healing
Healing Touch
Condition/Hex Counters
Smite Hex
Remove Hex
Mend Ailment
Mend Condition
Purge Conditions (sucks, don't bother)
Restore Condition (probably the best condition remover if you are going up against any Rangers at all who can make you bleed, blind, cripple, and poison you in a matter of seconds)
*Choose 1 Condition Remover and 1 Hex Remover
*Pick 1 optional skill of your desire from your primary class or your secondary class
*Resurrect or Restore Life is ultimately better than Rebirth (I hate that skill so much -_-)
So you'll have a skill setup looking something like this:
Word of Healing
Healing Seed
Orison of Healing
Healing Touch
Smite Hex
Mend Ailment
Divine Boon
Restore Life
Word of Healing
Healing Seed
Heal Other

Restore Life You are forgetting a few things in my opinion.
Healing breeze is a good self regen and good for others. Unless the opposing party has a huge deal of enchantment removals you can keep up healing breeze for a bit. Healing seed is too expensive as an ally heal, and I'd rather get heal party (also 15 energy) instead of it, simply because it has no cooldown unlike healing seed's 25 second cooldown. You'll want the cooldown to be as low as possible for all your 8 skills in PvP.
Divine Boon is not very good in my testing, as it lowers energy regeneration by 1 and is an enchantment that can be removed. Mend ailmen is very good as is healing touch and word of healing. But word of healing takes up the elite slot. I would consider dedicating at least one slot to energy management for a PvP monk. Energy management is extremely important so that the monk is not a sitting duck after hitting less than 5 energy.
That said, I don't want to give out THE definitive monk skill setup, as it will be different for everyone's style and tastes. Experiment and find what you like.
