I live in mexico and I want to get the preorder, but I dont trust the mexican mail service (have gotten screwed a few times)... so like I did with prophecies I wonder if an option of buying only the cdkey would be avaible...

Hey, I asked this question from the GW support:
Good Evening, I'd like to know if and when the Guild Wars Factions will be available on PlayNC store, with online-retail code purchase option. Also, say I purchased the game via online-retail code, will it be possible for me to start getting the data of the game in advance, will there be a separate client download for GW Factions? or do I just add the Key to my current GW account. So if I purchased the Factions, added the key to my GW account, will the client start downloading the New Factions content, As I dont want to wait for the whole game to be downloaded on the day Factions is released publicly. I'm on a 56k connection, so that will take extremely long time and by the time I'd be done, I'll miss all the initial fun :-( So will the client start downloading factions automatically? and what can I do it to keep the cleint in that stage? like I could log into my account and leave it open whole night, will the client start getting Faction's data? This way I could get the data well before the public release. Thanks You.

, one of the things that's kinda cool is that most people don't realise that they have Factions right now on their hard drives. We did a Factions preview event last month, and we're doing another at the end of March, on March 24th. The way we do that is that we essentially stream down the entirety of the game to people; but we disable those parts of it that we don't want them to access right now on the server, so all the new missions are there on people's drives, but nobody can actually play them. What that means is that when we release a new campaign, we'll start streaming it to you probably around three or four weeks before it's actually available for sale - and by the time you're ready to buy it and it's available directly online to purchase, all the graphics and resources and sound already reside on your hard drive. You purchasing it is just paying for it, and then there's no download - you just go! It's kind of interesting that way. |
