unless by using thottbot you mean't a resource created and used by farmers and information gathering plugins that are against the EULA.
wait, what?

Honestly have seen nothing remotely close to Thott for GW, simply because of the massive amount of data they have compared to anything that wiki could deal with. Their spawn maps etc, the fact that their data is fed in virtual real time and the fact that it's on a TON of servers vs. one it's got a lot of horse power.

Really, some arguments GW players use against WoW are just as ridiculous as WoWers use. You don't have to like game, but claiming that it's "database fansite"(or however you'd call it) is source of viruses is just pitiful - roughly on the level "GW sucks because it has no monthly fee".
I'm not sure if Guildwiki is like thott - seems more like wowwiki(well, duh) - then again, that's because of different nature of game

It's like players checking informations about bosses elite skills, instead discovering it on their own - do you consider that cheating as well? Last time I checked, cheating was *unfair* advantage - now where exactly is that unfair advantage in using publicaly available website?
Pff, yeah right. There are thousand sites that can infect your computer with malware. I use thott for quite a while and I have yet to have any problems with "spyware/trojans".
