Which professions suggestions?

I am looking for advice on which professions both prim and sec to play? I am using my friend's account and can only use one of his slots so trying them all out is difficult without constantly deleting characters.

I want to play something thats competent at solo and team PvE. Also, in the future I will want to play PvP so a profession set that isn't useless to my teammates would be nice. Of course, doesn't have to own in any of these areas.

Basically, something flexible, competent, and fun. I am open to all suggestions including the hated War/Mo. My friends have Element and Ranger as primes and maybe I want to complement them, too. Any suggestions?

Right now, I'm trying out a Ranger/Monk and hes not too bad.

Thanks

Alright man, the most versitle I have to say are warriors and monks, both can solo, both are wanted in every situation in the game (save a few of course) but i would reccomend a Warrior/Monk for your first guy. It will be a fun expiriance I am sure.

I was initually going with Wa/Mo since it seemed like the safest and most straightforward class, then I learned there were too many of them out there. I may just go back to that class. Thanks.

Necro has tremendous variety.

Blood and Curses and Minion Master are three very different experiences.

Necros are central to a lot of the popular group builds right now, both in PvE and PvP.

They just got a bit of nerfing, and are probably due for more (intelligent AI response to Spiteful Spirit, anybody?), but if I could only play one character, I'd probably play a necro.

Thanks. I am actually trying out a War/Nec right now to see how that goes. From what I've read, the problem with War/Mo is that, though they are tanks, they don't dish out enough damage per sec. I'm hoping that a Wa/Ne will strike a balance between offense and defense supported warrior, something I will need for lots of soloing and useful in parties, maybe. Anyways, any other suggestions is appreciated.
