I have been playing for awhile now and ever since i go to put up the graphics for like the terrain or texture to maximum, it wont upgrade any better after it goes past medium.

Ive heard of this problem awhile back
but can no longer find anything that helps

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO SOLVE THIS UNFORTUNATE PROBLEM?

nvidia *spit* *spit* - I hate nvidia :P - my 9800 overheated (fan got cloged) and i couldnt wait 5 days for a new card, so i bought a GeForce 6200, 512mb BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER, I couldnt even play GW in low settings, 22 fps on most games, took it back to the shop, ordered a radeon x1600 - now, everything up as high as it can go, full AA, 1600x1200 - no problems :P

So, after installing the new card, did you reload the latest DirectX and video card drivers? Just covering the basics... I have a 6800Ultra and run at max settings no prob...

well no offense but that's your fault not Nvidia's. you bought a low range card not meant for gaming then expected it to be better than your 9800 which a couple years ago was the ultimate gamer card. if you got a 6600gt or higher it would have been a dif story.

actually, to be honest, I was ill advised by the shop, as I said 'I had a 9800, I want something thats ATLEAST that level' and they reccomended the 6200..

but I know people on a 5800 who get better performance so :\

its ok, im on the x1600 now so i dont care :P

The X1600 isn't a "bad" card...just not one I would have got. I have the X800XL and it is better then that card in my opinion. The X1600 can do the Shader Graphics 3 where my X800XL only will do Shader 2 after that the X1600 is actually slower. The X1600 only has 12 pipelines too.

I am not flaming your card...it is just you are better off with a higher end card from the previous tech then a low to mid range on the newer tech.

I always buy the high end cards that are going to be obsolete soon and get them at a decent price.
