Improved Trade Window Interface

This suggestion requires some coding on ANET's side, but it could easily cut back on a lot of bait-and-switch item scams, thereby reducing ANET's incident investigation workload at the same time:

Simply display the full stats of all item of the Trade Window, both topside and bottom. Instead of requiring the cursor to float over the item to show its stats, the new interface could just fully display all item stats in their own adjacent pop-up windows, with lines being auto-drawn from the item icons to their corresponding stat windows if needed.

Yes, it would cause more individual screen clutter, but such a new feature could also be toggled on/off depending on user preferences. Frankly, I'd never turn it off if it should ever be implemented.

PS: I've never been scammed, but I could see this feature helping newer naive players spot potential fraud more easily. Such a feature can only help, not hinder. It won't stop all scams, but any reduction in fraudulent activity is a good thing

i would also suggest a second trade screen after both players have accepted, just restating what is about to be traded

Although...dunno. I'm not a scammer myself, but I like the idea of having different kinds of players ("evil" and nice players) -including scammers.
I don't know, it makes the mmorpg more lively, you have to pay attention and know how to deal with different types of players. If everyone was nice to each other, I think the game (for me) would be rather boring.

I know all of this sounds strange, but it's just a feeling I have ^^" it's not that I support scamming, of course

I would agree with the above if my "good" character had the option of hunting down the "evil" scammer, killing the evil scammer's character in combat permanently, then recovering the scammed/defrauded/stolen items. Evil actions should have dire consequences such as permanent death and inability to log-out while holding stolen goods. As it stands now, GW rewards fraudulent activity instead of discouraging it.

Scamming is against the EULA. If the scammer is investigated and found guilty, he/she can be banned either temporarily or permanently. Either way, the investigation process is a big waste of time for ANET, while most scammers profit from the crime.

This is why I proposed the above idea. The trade window is a sorry rush job in its present state. Items should have all stats displayed instead of requiring the cursor to show stats. This should dramatically lower at least one kind of scam.
