Just curious, when I see people who post rediculous screenshots of 10+ maxed out 15^50 gold weapons, do you get these more as drops from creatures, or chests, or buying I suppose? And if the majority of them are creature drops, and you had to quantify it, how many farming hours would you estimate you put in per decent gold drop. (accepting decent means many things to different people, and many would call a "gold" drop decent in itself.)

Those generally aren't farmers with the best weapons, those are traders.

I farmed for months and have a collection of perfect wepons. Sometimes salvaging one perfect wepon for the mod to apply to another (sometimes loosing both). Well those days are over now but luckily I have found everythig I need

With me at least, farming and trading often go togther.

Some of the really expensive gold drops do fall, but the majority of the stuff is destined for the merchant. But the gold from that - along with the sales of the occasional exceptional drop - fund high ticket purchases.

One thing - again this is just me - some of the best actual drops come when I take a newly-created character through the high-level missions again. The usual farming runs do produce gold drops but when I get something that will sell for 100k plus ecto (and that doesn't happen often) it often comes from one of those new characters as it completes the last missions, from THK on up.
