My best geuss he's in Pre-searing and had his first run in with Charr on the other side of the wall. He's a W/E.

First off: You should be a relative high level before attampting charr farming in Pre-searing (lvl 8+) and even then it's hard.
Second, there is no use taking both sword and axe skills, you should choose a weapon and set up your skills/attributes accordingly.
Third: If you want us to tell you if the item is any good, post what it does. But my geuss is that's it's not that good, since it dropped in pre-searing.
Fourth: Don't use healing sig when Charr are hacking away at you, this will cost you more life then you will get.
And fifth: I'd advise, once you've finished up on the quests, to take the quest where you leave everything behind.

If you have trouble with the "Over the wall" quest, avoid the Charr, you do not need to battle them.

He is in presearing and he got a Purp drop from the Charr.

Use a ID kit from the merchant to see its mods.

If its good..use it...If its not..sale to merchant.

And yes - Across the Wall is the hardest pre has to offer.

And stay in 1 attribute in pre.

Dont use magic AND sword AND axe. Just use the 2 Sword Skills, healing Sig, and Frenzy (when your not getting owned). bring a monk with you, and you'll do fine.

ok thanks
I have done all the quests, and am at lvl 8 now, trying to hone my fihgting hunting charr b4 I leave to the academy. Those buggers are hard and I get mobbed by several and aggroed by the casters so I did quickly.
will drop one weapon and see how I do, the axe might be the one I need since I ge the cyclone going and damage all nearby,
opinions?

My main advice: Leave pre, the game has so much more to offer for you as a new player. You can always go back to pre (with a new character) to give Charr farming a go.

And please don't sell your black dye's for cheaper then 5.000 gold as long as your in that area of the game.

The conditions from Sever and Gash will help you far better than alittle area dmg on cyclone. At this stage in the game.

And dont leave pre til YOUR ready to leave. Pre has some fo the best areas and such in the game.

Wrong, Axe owns Sword in Pre, especially when getting a nice one from a drop (6-17+) or one that got here through the Guild Hall exploit.

Anyway.. You won't be getting drops that are actually worth anything untill you reach Dessert etc. Every Purple item should be given to the merchant in the first place (unless it's a Crystalline Sword/Dwarven Axe/Serpent Axe/Tribal Axe/Sickle). Sell Gold items to players (even though these should be given to the merchant most of the time), and just ask how much this is worth in the Price Check forum in here (with full stats).

Ya, there are plenty of charr to kill once you cross over to post-searing. Incase you don't know yet, those items that Maxiemonster was talking about can be worth alot of money if you trade them to other players.

(Crystalline Sword/Dwarven Axe/Serpent Axe/Tribal Axe/Sickle).

These Items can be anywhere from say 80,000 gold and up into the millions for perfect ones. If you think you have something good, then go to the price check forum and post a thread listing all the details of your item and ask what others think it is worth if you tried to trade it.

Even with the substantial buff to Gash? I haven't tried them out yet, but it seems like this would have equalized the two.

Don't be telling him to off and merchant the purple item right away in Pre. If it has good stats it could be worth a lot to people who keep characers in pre-searing.

Oh and Justis Guy, you probably think Guild Wars is such a huge and complex game being all that you've completed...you ain't seen nothing yet. I remember being completely overwhelmed when I initially "left everything behind".

Isnt there a purple cesta in pre that is worth money as well? Dont off and trade that to the merchant.

In pre you used to be able to go into observer mode and be able to go into the guild hall from there. Then a guildie can open trade and give you items.
