yes you pay at the statue of grenth in TOA to get to the uw

However, there are some people who call the Tombs of the Primeval King the UW (though it is incorrect) because the first map is named so.

The area is free, but is challenging for many groups. The map is also very different from the true Underworld in the Temple of Ages.

ypu pay 1k at toa and you must asscend to get to tombs now

Statue; /kneel; Talk to ghoul that pops up. Leader should have 1k with him/her

The 1k at ToA should be split evenly between your team which means you should end up paying 125gp, unless your soloing.

After ascension, find the exit (Northeast I believe?) at Dragon's Lair. There you will arrive at the tombs, and then hop into that purple portal.
