Now I know there are some of you who completely disagree with this idea and not only do the rest of us not care, we prefer you not post here. Think about this (and I know this has been posted earlier): You want to get to an area 2 feet below you. But OH NOES!!!111111 You can't jump, so you have to walk 1/2 way across the map to get there. There's a pretty lake. Not only is it pretty, but theres a nice chest you can access easily just on the other side. If you could only swim across it... sigh. Ohhh a mountain! *TOO BAD* Not only can you not climb it, but ANet has decided that you can't even walk up it just a little bit. How realistic is this?
If you agree that players should be able to move more freely in the Guild Wars world, use this format.
I, *In Game Name*, agree that Guild Wars characters should be able to move more freely in the Guild Wars world.

just to comment.
Im pretty sure alot of ppl wouldnt mind this. (everyone's seen it in WoW)
Yet, if GW was to implement this. They would need to add it to all the monsters as well, and would need to even add sea creatures. Who knows, the ability for underwater/on water battles could be added in in later chapters. It would kinda be like the "mounts" concept, GW has "instanced traveling" so no go to mounts. (you never know down the long road for GW)
So, with this, it might eliminate the whole idea of strategic aggroing or monster battles and purposely placed mobs through the maps. (GW's solution to not just "run through" all the areas easily)
/IMO.
/ATM: Neutral to this suggestion.
/GL with this.
(o yeah. just seen that you found/dug out the old thread about this. )

1) same as above
2) if they wanted you to bypass half the map by jumping down that cliff, then they wouldve put in a nice set of stairs for you. They make you go around for a reason.

I, Toben Hexx, agree that GW characters should be able to move more freely in the world.
There may be a reason for not being ablt to hop down 2 feet, but it's a damned lazy reason and I doubt the GW staff really needs me to kill a few monsters that bad.

People who are signing this do not understand how incredibly limiting this is from a game design standpoint. Restrictions and balance go hand in hand. A simplified physics and resource light game go hand in hand. With a full physics guildwars would likely have to be a pay game with much higher system requirements. Your bandwidth will undoubtably increase, making it tough to keep the game free.
Guild Wars explorable areas are kind of boring for this reason, but the resulting game balance makes it a much more intersting game. The game currently has a very simplified z axis at the programming level which means that you are asking A-net to rewrite their game-engine. Stop wasting your time complain about this and go back to WoW if this is a real issue.

Freakin Commy.
J/K. Seriously dude, i agree that this part of the game physics can make me feel like a mouse running around in a maze. I'd love to see run/jump/swim added to in game content, even if it had no effect except exploration. But Anets own website, when you read about Factions, states that they intend to make this worse, not better. It's part of the "challenge" to have your goal in easy reach, if only you could get to it. That and it will cost money to maintain GW if this is done. A lot of money. $15 dollars a month from players money.
/notsigned until GW can have this feature and remain free to play
