If you're farming then you want those corpses for minions so denial is not an option to be used lightly. I find that it works out well to put Putrid Explosion on the bar, but to use it very selectively/defensively. It should be used in the following situations:
1. You have just cast both your animate minion and horror but there's still a corpse down. Prevent it from becoming an enemy well or minion by doing putrid.
2. It's the first corpse down and you want to cause gnashers/binders/marrow scarabs to waste time and energy casting their corpse exploitation spell. I mostly use this in desert with the scarabs but it works in SF too. BOOM 126 damage and 25e wasted by at least 1 or more scarabs. (Gnashers/Binders recover from this faster but it still helps IMHO.) Plus they pay the recharge penalty on the aborted spell. Since they will be dead soon there's little chance they will get a well up/minion up.
You could use consume corpse if you want since it's a 1 second cast, but then you may find yourself in the middle of some trouble. It's a bad idea in the desert if you're queen farming because of all the nest builder's traps.
Just my $0.02.

I'm a die-hard collector staff user, so it would be the blue (yes blue
) Bone Staff from the collector north of Camp Rankor (20/20 Death Magic attribute)
Bring him 5 Mountain Troll Tusks, and he'll be happy to give you the best Death Magic staff the game can offer, without all the silly nonsense of paying an arm and a leg
*(only my opinion of course)*

as for beating them try a bortak's cesta + boots + rare 10% all fast cast wand as the wand and cesta appear to stack...I've had instacasts before the boots were fixed...
