Ok, so fair enough Sigils should be hard to get but at the moment the amounts Sigils are being sold for is really quite bad. Two instances i saw last night are:
- Someone buying a sigil for 90k
- Someone offering to pay $20 RL for one
Fair enough some people will be willing to pay this amount but in doing so they are setting the standard sellers rate which perhaps many of us others are not able to/prepared to pay to the BIG GUILDS who win sigils on a weekly or even daily basis.
Ok, so other alternative - win one. Not easy for small friendship guilds when faced with the huge PVP elite out there. Now many responses I have seen to this is "Well small guilds do not deserve to have a guild hall". So just because a guild prefers to stay small and have a guild with only friends as opposed to inviting any random character that walks past you in Ascalon City, that makes the Guild unworthy of a Hall? Just because perhaps a guild is not all that good at PVP means they are not allowed the right to fight other similiar skilled Guilds? Should i really have to join a party of uber PVP'ers just in the hopes of scrounging a Sigil through a win?
Many guilds don't want Sigils so they can go up against other Guilds in large tournaments and things. Perhaps some smaller guilds just want to be able to have a private place to meet up or arrange friendly Guild Wars against other small guilds of similiar size or skill.
My suggestion would be to offer some other reward at the Hall of Heroes. Something really ACE but thats not totally critical to the gameplay experience of Guild Wars.
Instead i think that Sigils should be available in some sort of Guild Based campaign. A series of really difficult missions that only guild members can team together on. At least that way every guild whether big, small, PVP elite or not PVP elite has the chance to get a sigil.
Lets face it - getting one via a PVE campaign in going to be much more fun than opening a trade window and parting with 90k.
Well thats my suggestion
