Um... I don't get that either myself... I guess call me dense, but its just sorta... wierd?

Maybe I should have been more clear. I get the joke. I'm just not sure what it implies about guild wars. other than it is considerably more fun to play with someone else.

It really has very little to do with Guild Wars at all, I guess it could be making a jab at it... Which is kind of a false jab because the story is very immersing, but anyway... it's a marriage councilling session... and appearantly, yes, I know... I can't spell today... and I don't care...

Like many of PA's comics, you need to read the news post to get it. It is not so much a jab at GW as it is at the other half of Gabe's two-man guild, who I would guess leaves something to be desired. Its interesting that Gabe didn't opt to join one of the two Penny-Arcade guilds, but I guess having people constantly fawn over him would get old...

it's some kinda homoerotic fantasy thing. I swear, gaming culture has so much homoerotic lingo. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Combat is extremely fast-paced in Guild Wars. A ten second buff lasts an eternity. Things go to hell quickly. They can be redeemed just as fast. So if you've heard the words MMO and Guild Wars together, it creates a kind of mental template which you imagine will define certain elements of the experience, and then a warrior caves in your skull with a maul. The immediacy of it is intense and strangely addictive. I'm curious to see how long I will maintain this level of enthusiasm. My guess is shortly after the banners come down.
