Approx. Gametime to Lvl 20?

I'm curious what is the approximate figure for amount of gameplay in hours required to get a character up to level 20? I know for some games like WoW to get a character to max level it's something rediculous like 250 hours and that's when you spend all the time just doing stuff to raise your EXP. Thanks in advance.

Doing the game normally..maybe 10-20 hours.

If you just do Exp stuff - maybe 5 hours.

if you take your time and explore and dont hurry it is 20- 40/50 but a bit of hurry is 20/30

NOTE

REACHING 20 IS NOT THE END OF THE GAME AND CHAPTER 2 HAS A FULL GAME WITHOUT GOING PAST 20 EITHER

Depends on what char you play. My monk took longer because I had to get other firepower(25-30 hours). My warrior could solo almost everthing and was level 20 at the first Maguuma mission(15 hours)

If it's your very first character, I'd say about 70 hours of gameplay. At least, for me it was something like that, because I spent about 10 hours in pre-searing, and then did all the missions and most of the quests, reaching lvl 20 at somewhere around "The Wilds" mission area.

People can get up to lvl 20 if they get power leveled in like 5 hours.

Hmm. My first character was a ranger, and that's one of the hardest to advance through the missions fairly ><. This may be funny but I spent about a month of which included 60-70 hours of gameplay to get to lvl 20. This is only if you experience the game to its fullest. Maybe if you had REALLY good connections you could get to 20 and ascended in less than 10 hours.

If it's ur first character dont hurry it by getting rushed or anything like that...take time out to enjoy the game...i dunno how long it'd take u...took me about 2 months, but i hardly ever have time to play, so if ur the least bit dedicated, it'd prolly take <a week...

Just did all the quests, for all the professions, and explored just about every inch of the map. I think I was lvl 8 when I went to post-searing for the first time.

Playing the game how you want has nothing to do with the purchase of your game.

Their getting Runed and Power Leveled so they can solo farm with their characters and earn the money back in only a matter of hours.

If you...
1) ....do all quests, missions & explore, you're looking at about 80 hours to lvl 20, and another 20 hours after that until the end of the PvE campaign (chapter 1. Chapter 2 is just around the bend now). There's also some areas you wont get to as part of the PvE campaign which'll take 20-30 hours more to fully explore, notably Sorrows Furnace & Grenths Footprint.

2) ....get high-level guildies to powerlevel & twink you, and bypass as much content as possible, you can be maxed out & farming in about 10 hours. Although it is a complete mystery to me why people want to do this.

There's of course variations between these two extremes too, e.g. it's quite popular to get run to Droknars Forge, get the max armor, and then continue the (now ridiculously easy) PvE campaign from the start.

Anyone who claims it takes less than two weeks to complete the PvE is either full of manure, plays 10 hours or more per day, or followed course 2). If you're actually playing the game you're likely looking at an easy month or two of gaming.

Oh, and pre-searing is huge, with lots of really nice content. It's got content to last to about level 8.

obviously you are missing the point. some players never bother learning the game for themselves, then after been power leveled to hell they complain there is nothing to do. i'm not talking about people who've beaten the game normally then create other characters and want to catch them up fast. and as for the whole money issue, instead of farming themselves to death people should go outside for a change.

LOL, when did they say that?

Gaile has told us time after time that the level cap will NOT be changed.

That said, its worth mentioning a third time that lvl20 is not the end of the game. Basically reaching lvl20 is a rite of passage into the tougher areas where your enemies will out-level you, and sometimes outnumber you as well. People have mentioned that they reached lvl20 around The Wilds area. That is very normal. The Wilds is about Halfway through the game (actually, its less than halfway), so you cna see what you would be missing out on if you stopped playing at lvl20 at the Wilds because you thought there was nothing else to do.

It took me about 50-70 hours to get to lvl 20... if you do villany of galrath when you get to Kryta you get 4,500xp and that will be worth some 3 levels, taking you pretty quickly to level 20.

This question has many variables that need to be taken into account. I would say the quickest it could take is 4 hours, if you get a run to the desert and through the missions, then spend some times trying to beat doppleganger. HAlf of that time you can spend AFK while being run.

Well depends how you play the game. With running, ascension and power leveling, I hit max in 3-4 hours. probably would take around a week of casual gaming(2-3 hours a day) to hit max playing without runners and power levelers.

BS. There's 25 missions, each mission averages an hour. Add to that travel time & failed missions & any quests. Even an experienced player who's 'speed-gaming' will be hard pressed to complete the campaign in a week playing 3 hours per day, except possibly if carried by a group of level 20's, and that's definitely not anything even resembling "casual gaming".

Would people who've never actually played the game without being run & powerlevelled please refrain from speculating about how long it takes to play casually? Please?

I just finished leveling to 20 on my new Elementalist, took 24.6 hours. No runs, no powerleveling, just did all the quests from Ascalon to the Desert (I hit level 20 at the end of Thirsty River)

So, 17 missions in 25 hours. Yeah, that's feasible, if you've done them before and know what to do, and have good and/or high-level people with you, and don't do quests, only missions.

Still not causal gaming.

Depending on your goals, you can reach lvl 20 in less than 10 hours, although it would involve a lot of mission skipping and running. It's actually one of the best ways of farming skillpoints.

Did I say that completed the campaign? No I said that hit max. Doing the high xp quests along with missions + bonus.

WOW, now we need to be realistic guys. When you start your first character you dont wana urry through the game and it takes a while. For me it took 60-70 hours. man

Yeah, agreed.

For people who have already completed the storylines, and just rush through everything, and take all the shortcuts, it might take a short amount of time, but for the first time, its longer.

For me, it took somewhere around 60-90 hours. And how this differs from WoW, is that lvling just zooms by. Its not something where you have to sit around for a rediculus amount of hours, fighting monsters, and fighting boredom. Lvl doesn't really matter in GW. Its just a bar to keep track or progress at a minimum lvl. A very small percent of your time in GW will involve fighting monsters for hours for exp. just go through all the missions, and you'll be lvl 20 in no time.

This is my experience, too. I'm a relatively casual gamer (although I probably do spend more time than I should on GW these days...), and I've only had the game for just over a month. I've been playing my character something like 73 hours and I'm level 18 and at Aurora Glade.

It really depends on how you want to play it, which is what makes GW so cool in my opinion. I spent the first part finishing *every* quest I could possibly find, and then started focusing on missions and primary quests so I can get a bit farther along. For one, I'd like to be able to go to Cantha when Factions comes out, plus I'd like to be able to play with my guildmates a bit more as they've all been playing a LOT longer than me. You can get through the game quickly, or you can take it easy.

Best advice I have is just play the game and enjoy it; the levels will come with it, and yes, they do really fly by. I've had a lot of times where I've looked up and realized I'm almost to the next level and didn't even notice!

I say if your just starting the game, don't rush. First time through was awsome for me. I reached lvl 20 around "The Wilds". And it took a real long time. I did every pre-searing quest, and every mission and quest up till that point.

Yup. If you do a few pre-searing quests, a few Ascalon quests and the quests in between mission outposts (plus missions of course) by following the story you'll get to level 20 in 10-20.

I got my most recent character, monk, to 20 with all her 200 skill points in about 23 hours after being created. You can farm skills points off trolls with scrolls with NP as any proffession. Don't really need to do all the missions over and over and over.
