Ok everyone knows what the ogre slaying knife is and what it looks like(well most of you do). Well also the -50hp cesta that is used for the 55monk looks exactly the same, i was wondering if there is a OFF-HAND item that looks exactly like the -50hp cesta but is not the same, if you have one for SELL or can tell me what drops one, or if you know the name of one! please tell me!

If you're talkin about the -50 HP Grim Cesta, then there are quite a few of those Cestas with this skin. I don't have one currently, but it is an uncommon skin version of the other Cesta skin. I'm sure you can find one like that with pretty good stats as the skin itself isn't that rare.

what i mean is............. is there any off-hand item in Guild Wars that looks like the -50hp cesta but does NOT give the -50hp.

yes there are other foci with the skin but it is a somewhat rare skin

Its obvious he just wants to know where to get a lookalike so that he can scam other players into thinking its a real -50

or maybe he just wants to walk around and make ppl think he has one.

Apart from that the question does point towards a scammer/poser. Why would someone specifically want a cesta that LOOKS like a -50 but isn't???

How do you scam anyone in this game? Make them think you're right. Read up on the Guildwiki article on scamming. Clearly those are listed because they've WORKED.

Any scam is just that, attempting to pass of something of which it isn't.

You really like to make assumptions huh? Anyone who's brand new to the game can do the Cities of Ascalon quest. It's not hard. People who just learned what a "mouse" is can probably do it.

Maybe he just likes the skin... ya think? Why are people assuming he wants to scam someone - sounds like he just likes the look. (Gee, I can't think of why someone would care about the SKIN of an item...? Jump on over to the sell forum and take a look at how important the skins are to people).

I would have to agree with this post.

Well, let's look at it like this.

-He doesn't say what kind of stats he's looking for.
-He doesn't say what kind of build he needs it for.
-He says he wants something that "looks like this but doesn't give the -50 HP"

So, either he wants to buy a bunch of items that LOOK like something but in no way help his build (unless he expects us to be psychic and know exactly what will help his build) or he wants something that looks the same so he can go "Really, it IS the -50 HP item" or do a "show and switch."

Given what you've been presented with, and the style of his reactions to our inquiry... what would you assume?
