There are some misguided individuals in my guild who think elementalists are better in PvP than rangers (with tiger's fury). I have tried reasoning with them and even showed some excellent posts from my ranger guru, Ensign.

I think you are an ignorant nOOb. There is no "best" PvP profession. Now get over it. Go buy WoW if you want a game that have classes that are unbalanced.

If they mean Pure Ele vs Pure Ranger in DPS only. I would say yes (but only by a small amount of DPS)
Then again, a ranger vs ele in a 1v1 I think the ranger would win. But there is never 1v1 so no point in discussing that.
Now, in overall utiltiy for disruptin and slowing the other team I like the ranger better. Than again, the earth line for Ele's adds lots of group defense and slows to the other team.
So in the end.. Bring one of each to the party. And if your guild doesn't like you, get another guild.

I am sorry that we are back on point again. I was getting into the whole Star Wars tagent.
Point well taken regarding the earth magic. Personally, I would take 2 rangers over a ranger and an ele to GvG. The extra DPS and disruption seems to be better as most enemies have more than one caster.
