Why the want for troll tusks?

Just curious why i see a want for mountain troll tusks?

Maybe collector items/armor or even the people just want to show off that they have 5k Minatour horns for no apparent reason.

Because ppl are farming more of them since the desert nerf, and there's a collector who gives pretty good weaps for them. I think it's just ppl taking advantage of a glut in the economy.

I hear the reason is that the collector's item sells to the merchant for a heck of a lot more than the tusks themselves and so some people are hoping to make a nice profit.

...but if you ask me it certainly isn't worth it. Not unless you can get some gigantic stacks and turn all the tusks in to the collector at once. Making those trips to the collectors isn't exactly fast, afterall.

It pretty much comes down to people trying to turn an experience farming spot into a gold farming spot and having to get creative (since trolls are garbage for money-making).

Most max collectors items sell back to the merchant for 125g each while most of the collectibles sell back for roughly 20-25g each, making little room for profit if you sell to the merchant only.

troll tusks sell for 8 each but when exchanged with collector is 25 each so ppl are taking advantage of that

Troll tusks sell for 8g each and, yes, I agree it's still garbage as far as money goes to trade them in for collectors items that are then resold to the merchant.

Only bot farmers will make enough of a profit on this to make it worthwhile and then Anet can make so collectors stuff can't be sold to the merchant. GG IGE

I have to say, thats one of the saddest things ive seen in awhile. I asked a guy why was everyone buying Mountain Troll Tusks and he said, "Dont talk to me you pedifile."
