ok now that I got my @#$%ing anger out i'll explian this @#$%ing problem.
My computer is awsome here are some specs.
Prossecer:
AMD ATholon (tm)xp 3200+, MMX, 3Dnow.~2.2 Ghz
Memory:
512Mb Ram
Video Card:
RADEON 9800 Pro
memory :128.0mb
Now here is my porblem...
Guild wars is a great game dont get me worng but im ready to quit after 4 days of playing. This is the reason why , whenever I play for about 20 mins into the game , my game starts lagging , it freezes and unfreezes , then it freezes for 2 mins and disconnects THIS GETS ME REAL MAD , can you imagine how many times I had to redo missions? I do not understand why this happens. I have played Doom 3 online with full graphics and I experienced no lag. I have play Cs sorce online with no lag. I do not know why Gw is so GOD DANM DIFFERENT.
I bring this problem to this forum for you guys to solve. I have done the Frost gate mission 14 times already and have not completed the bonus of the mission. Every single time that im right about to complete mission or bonus the game @#$%ing disconnects. If this problem does not disconnect ill have to quit after 4 days of playing

1.) Calm the hell down.
2.) I'll come back later and suggest some things, I'm full of flu. For now, I'm sure Serafita and EnDinG will be glad to help.

Whit -
I'm just going to go out on a limb with this description:
- You're playing the game, and then things sort of... stop working.
- You can click your skills, but they won't activate (although the little icon still pulse as if the skill is in the que.)
- Henchmen aren't following you.
- You can turn your character back and forth by using the mouse, but you are unable to run forward or backwards.
- Mobs occasionally wander past you without ever seeming to aggro.
- You can't use chat functions.
- After around 1-2 minutes you get disconnected.
How much of that sounds familiar?
It sounds to me like you have the usual network issues. Many people have connections that "flicker." This doesn't interupt your web browsing or gaming most of the time, but I've noticed that due to GW's 'thin client' nature, it doesn't like to resume old connections sometimes. If your connection flickers at an interval of, say, 2500ms or so, then you're probably dumping the GW server on a regular basis.
I know a lot of people (including myself) who've had some issues playing GW on wireless.

prolly need a gig of ram....just a thought...i have p4p800e deluxe. 3.0 p4 6600gt, 1 gb ram and audigy2 runs smooth as silk

the page file thing is 166mb used 1851mb available , if that the problem how do i fix it?
@ Soul
Those problems dont seem familiar. Its more like if lags a bit then it freezes and disconnects.

Connection flicker, most likely. Call your ISP and ask them to help you resolve the issue.
The_Whit
So I should ask them about connection flicker?
WHat should I exactly say?
Btw i have a rputer and sharing connection with my brother, his internet speed seems fast then mine.

You might need a switch, if one computer is getting more than another.
Call them up, tell them tech support said the problem was on their end, and ask them what they can do about it. You do pay for it, it ought to work.

The_Whit
I just cheecked both internet speed of each computer. They were exactly the same so thats not the problem.
Principa Discordia
If you're playing Guild Wars while your brother is online, and he starts downloading stuff (music, movies, other large files), you will definitely notice it in your game.
Strangeness
only thing that springs to mind with me is drivers, games can be unstable without the latest drivers in some cases. obviously u should (if not already) have the directX installed that came with the disk. also try finding out what driver your running you radeon on and see if that can be updated. if you find that u can update these things, i recomend you 'fix/repair' you GW game (not un-install, just repair) after you have done so to the drivers. or you could just go for a repiar anyway, never know.
good luck.
good luck.

I have the latest version of all my drivers. It pobally if my brother but it happens even when there coputer is shut off. Please help this si really pissing me off I just got disconnected while trying to sell somthing.

If you have a wireless Router, you might want to examine the settings you have. I noticed around here today that my wireless phone locked onto the channel my router was using, everytime we got a phone call the wireless data connections would get interupted. If you are indeed using a wireless accesspoint you might look at rotating the channel you are boradcasting on as well as lowering the rate between signal broadcast.
It was the old Error 7 which exhibits all the things listed about. If you are on a wired router or switch check for frame bursting or upgrade the firmware of the device to ensure that it is indeed fucntioning properly. Most users who share a connection do not directly plug into the modem they use but route through a network appliance to the device.
If you are unsure if it is the network device you can also try running a single hardline connection to the modem and play for any determined period to see if the the connection fails.
It does appear as though Guildwars Streaming client is more prone to failure then other game clients. It seems as though Anet could examine the timeout settings and connection settings server side if it is indeed a problem with the client.

It does sound like a connectivity problem.
This is not to downplay your issue, but I have been amazed at how problem free guildwars has been. I tried playing shadowbane and couldn't even LOG ON for like 2 weeks, and had all sorts of crashing problems---and the management was completely unsympathetic.
Maybe you could move your computer, as is, to a friends house who has a different isp and see if it plays there. If so, then the problem is definately a network issue. Armed with that information you do not need to know all the technical information yourself to talk to your isp provider---you will have definite proof that it is not your machine or your installation, or your drivers, because the only thing that changed was the isp.
IF the isp won't fix your problem promptly, and if you have a choice in your area, switch to another service and ask for the money for your remaining days back because they are not providing a working service. Tell them what competing company you are changing to instead.
Unluckily in the small town I am in currently there is no competition for highspeed internet access---the cable company has a monopoly. But most places are not like that.
Even people with 56k are running the game fairly well so long as they are outside of town, and inside they just lag, not crash.

Nonsense, I use a router with a DSL connection. My wife sits right next to me on the other computer (were splitting the same connection) and plays in a party with me and it runs smooth as silk. I wouldnt worry about the connection being split, however, you may be just plain having ISP problems. I recommend contacting your ISP. Also I got alot of freezing on 1 of my computer and had to back down my overclock a bit. Keep in mind I was running the far more intensive games like Doom3 and Far Cry with no issues. Guild Wars is a bit touchy. Good Luck to you!
The_Whit
In noticed somthinhg. Last night and today I was play from 11pm-3am when my brother had the computer shut off I noticed no lag at all and did not disconnect. But how should I deal with this problem.
Strangeness
desrtoy your bros computer ... ot just find a way to get more bandwhich out of it rather than him... my best guess.
The_Whit
Thats what im thinking (getting more badwith out of it ) but how the hell do I do that?
I really wana piss him off and make it so he cant download anyting.

Nno offense, but your PC is just average. Nothing awesome about that one. Just about every gamer has that as their bare minimum.
If your gameplay is much improved when his computer is not online then you do have connection probs. Call your ISP and talk to them. They may have suggestions for improving the speed. I know my brother-in-law had problems with one setup but when he rearranged it, things got a good deal better. It won't hurt & it might help.

What are you using to split the connection ?
Hubs, switches, and ICS all work differently.

Ok, well thats much better, most routers use internal switches. So those should stay pertty balanced as far as performance goes.
If its a hardwaire connection you might check for firmware updates if its a wirelss one you might consider rotating the channel that you are broadcasting on.
You also might have to make sure that port err 6112 I think it is, is fowarded a virtual server or a port trigger although I hear triggers don't work to well.
Like I said earlier have you tried a direct connection to the modem itself ?
If it still faulters then it would be something on the Service side of things.

Get your bro banned of his PC or something, lol. =P

I cant try direct connection to the modem , if I did how would my brother connect?

You don't worry about your brother. Your borther is unimportant at this point [wave hand, uses force power]
Really we are trying to see what is going on, if we are ever going to check to see if the problem is with the router, you must by pass it. The only way to truely test your internet connection to see if it is indeed a problem with your services is to bypass the router and directly connect a computer for a period of undertermined time to see if the game crashes in the same manner.
As such, how or when your borther is reconnected is of no importantce. This is an attempt to test your services directly at the source of which you get them, its not about who is connected.

Hmmnmm.... this is very odd, when I connect my cable directly to the modem it says im not getting any conenction and connot connect to the internet 0_o

Or if he doesnt have a password put one on like "Im a Fag" youll get a kick out of that

I realy need help its happening more frequently now.
Also when I look at my and my brother connections I see that I have 2 more extrra things then he does.

Well if your isp limits you to one ip, you may have to actually unplugg the modem for a period of atleast 60 seconds. Then power down your system connect it and boot it.
By 2 more things what do you mean ?

What you need to do:
- Hook the cable modem directly up to your computer.
- Call your ISP.
- Ask them to detect your computer and assign your system an address. (Most house holds can have a number of these.)
- Get them to set it all up and then see how the connection works out.
They will walk you thu the setup process of connectiong to their service. This will take a little while but its needed so we can find out if its the router.
