question about crafting

First of all, I did use the search before posting and did not find my answer. If it is out there already, I apoligize.

Do certain professions only use certain crafting materials?

For example, I have a ranger that uses bolts of cloth, silk, that kind of stuff. I think even wood planks once. He has never had a use for iron ingot, bones, glittering dust.

Does each profession only use certain crafting materials? If so, which profession uses what materials?

short answer is yes

each profession will need different things with some or a lot of overlap
cloth for casters steel for warriors etc

I am a five year Everquest 1 Veteran. I remember the "Spoiler" sites being VERY usefull when trying to hunt down interesting quest items or good hunting grounds etc.

GW's is still pretty new and it will take time to compile all the information needed for a huge web site like the one we are talking about in this forum. But yes... We need a GW.Castersrealm.com or a GW Allakahzam's...

Heck, I'll paypal ya $5 right now for a screenshot of a fully explored post searing map of the Ascalon area. =)

Perhaps we could turn this forum thread into a list of GW's Web sites. I have not found much.
