So i started a guild a while back. My friends all joined it and life was good. But now I've tasted pvp and I love it. Our guild isn't big enough or active enough to do pvp, and I'm looking for a way to get members that have minimal to no experience.

I say minimal or no because that's the amount I have with pvp. So it would be nice to learn it with a bunch of other people. Either way, I'm not sure how to "recruit" people. I don't want to look like a dumb-ass and I don't want our guild to look really bad.

So I don't want to sit in Ascalon spamming:
"IU is recruiting! IU is beginning to be active in PvP and GvG! Hall, capes, vent and website coming"

But then I don't know what else to do. How do (did) the good guilds do it?

i dont know how some of the high ranked guilds began their recruiting... but it seems you are much like my guilds mentality. We basically started with just a few friends who did have to start by spamming towns with advertisements of guild recruitment. Once 10-20 people had been recruited this way, advertisement in random cities was stopped all-together. From that point on, they ONLY recruited players through invitation. When these original guildmembers would go off into the GW world in PvE, they would observe others that did not have a guild, and see how they played, acted and behaved in game. If it seemed that person was experienced, knowledgable, or at least mature enough to help build a guild community, then an invitation would then be offered....

I hope that all gives you an idea of how some, or many, guilds recruit. The guild im in is now around 100 people strong and we continue to only recruit through inner-guild recommendations, followed by questions then invitation!

enjoy.

Rite of Passage has a forum here on guildwarsguru, and we receive applications to join us. We have no need to recruit, they simply ask to be with us

We ask them some questions and try to see if they will fit in. If we believe the player fits in, an invite will be send. We expanded across servers this way, so we are now European based with a good dozen or so American members.

You can also read Maltare's tips for starting a guild. It's in the guild auditorium section.

Go to Heros Ascent play with some decent people not those Iway crazed people, true you CAN make a Iway guild but than I would think that would get old doing Iway every time going in. Go to Random Arenas and Team Arenas, I doubt Ascalon or any lower place would be best to recuit. Mainly they are super new or lacks PVP experince.
