It is their website and they can do whatever they please. But in the matter of about 1 to 2 minutes I have seen 2 posts that I wanted to reply to closed. Note this isn't a thread of mine that has been closed, but posts that I want to reply to that have been closed.

Approved, the 5 days limit to post and the "no bumping" rules does not fit with a trading website.

At the peak time you can see a full page of topic in 5 minutes, a topic can get lost easilly even if the item is interessting.

It looks like I will have to find another forum

Edit: I visited a lot of trading website, with thousands of visit a day, and i've never saw any rules like this.

Obviously you find item every day and not every 5 day, a single topic for all different items make it very difficult to sell and to buy (seach less effective based on topic name).

A good rule to prevent traffic is "bump every 3 hours only", and max 2 topic at the same time.

I hope that the admin will change his mind because this is a wonderfull website but the actual rules will totally kill this part of the forum.

obviously..who ever posted that 'new rule' has no idea what they are doing.

We will reconsider the 5 day rule on posting a new posts.

Bumping is definately a problem. We might just end up writing our own auction/selling system, so that part remains to be seen

Just a new thing:

If you can only make *one* topic every 5 days, U cannot make a descritive topic name (since you can have different items), and most of the time we only use screenshot as items with numbers.

So the search would return nothing, and thus the topic will get lost in 10 minutes and never come on first page again, since nobody will find it.

As for the bumping, a time limit (2, 3 4 hours intervals between own posts) is enough to reduce B/W.

If you are going to get rid of the five day post rule then get rid of the bumping rule. There are so many new auction post being made that in the time I post an auction and hit the summit button during peak hours it can all ready be two post down... and I just made the thread. Within a minute it is allready on page 2. But I do think the five day post thing is also annoying sence when I sell items it tends to be around 175+ items at one time and I like to break that into two threads an upgrade thread and an item thread.

maybe we should consider if we want this to be an information site or as someone put it an *auction site*

how about it people do we want information or an auction house here?

"The greedy and the needy unite, for all who want, need to buy. Bid and trade for treasures."

Sounds like from the description of this forum that it is an Auction Forum not an Information forum.

How about we not post off topic comments on auction threads. And if you want to know if you won an item, how about PMing the seller. I see more old auctions coming to the first page with comments like "So did I win" or "What's your IGN". Maybe if this type of stuff was cut out, there wouldn't be a problem with posts getting lost.

Use the PM feature.
